Several fungal species, including mushrooms, produce bioactive and toxic compounds that exert many activities, such as direct action on DNA, inhibition of protein synthesis, damage to cell membranes, or suppression certain enzymatic activities. This is particularly important mushrooms can play an role in human nutrition and/or are used dietary supplements. In this context, we screened ethanolic extracts 64 wild for their potential inhibit cholinesterases glutathione S-transferase. Seven the showed inhibitory effect cholinesterases, while 24 inhibited These results suggest effects some may be directly linked a specific class act inhibitors physiologically relevant enzymes. Most identified activities described first time call caution, especially when diet rich mushrooms. Conversely, these molecules serve inspiration chemical synthesis development drugs combat neurodegenerative diseases cancer.

Abstract Reactive oxygen species reacts with numerous molecules in the body system causing oxidative damage, which requires antioxidants to ameliorate. Pleurotus ostreatus , a highly nutritious edible mushroom, has been reported be rich bioactive compounds. This study evaluated comparative antioxidant activity and phytochemical contents of five extracts P. : aqueous (AE), chloroform (CE), ethanol (EE), methanol (ME) n-hexane (HE). The composition were determined using standard in-vitro assay methods. Results showed that contained alkaloids, tannins, saponins, flavonoids, terpenoids, phenolics, cardiac glycosides, carbohydrates, anthrocyanins, betacyanins varied amounts. CE had highest flavonoid content (104.83 ± 29.46 mg/100 g); AE gave phenol 24.14 0.02 g; tannin was EE (25.12 0.06 HE amounts alkaloids (187.60 0.28 g) saponins (0.16 0.00 g). Antioxidant analyses revealed best hydroxyl radical 250% at 100 µg/ml ferric cyanide reducing power 8495 µg/ml; ME maximum DPPH (87.67%) hydrogen peroxide scavenging (65.58%) 500 nitric oxide inhibition 65.81% ascorbate peroxidase 1.60 (iU/l). total capacity (5.27 GAE µg/ml) ferrous iron chelating (99.23% while guaiacol 0.20(iU/l). characteristics (IC 50 ) followed order: > HE. Overall, extraction solvent for . high phenolic compounds, makes it source potential candidate development new therapies variety stress-related disorders.

In recent years, there has been a considerable rise in the production of novel metabolites derived from fungi compared to ones originating bacteria. These organic substances are utilized various sectors such as farming, healthcare, and pharmaceutical. Since all dividing living cells contain primary metabolites, secondary synthesized by utilizing intermediate compounds or by-products generated metabolic pathways. Secondary not critical for growth development an organism; however, they exhibit variety distinct biological characteristics. White-rot only microorganisms able decompose wood components. Hence, play important role both carbon nitrogen cycles decomposing non-living substrates. They ubiquitous nature, particularly hardwood (e.g., birch aspen) forests. fungi, besides ligninolytic enzymes, produce different bioactive during their metabolism including some with antimicrobial anticancer properties. Such properties could be potential interest pharmaceutical industries. Considering importance untapped biologically active white-rot present paper reviews produced interesting bioactivities.

ABSTRACT Climate change significantly impacts terrestrial ecosystems by altering soil moisture, temperature regimes, rainfall patterns, and frequency of extreme weather events. These disruptions lead to shifts in community structures, accelerates land degradation processes, which turn exacerbate the global food crisis. This review explores roles earthworms fungi improving health mitigating insecurity through their contributions nutrient cycling, fertility, plant growth. Earthworms recognized as key biological agents structures enhancement, carbon sequestration. They play crucial heavy metal remediation, quality, fostering sustainable agricultural practices such organic farming. The emphasizes influence on dynamics, particularly response residues management, characteristics, field conditions. Earthworm activity positively affects microbial communities, growth, even under stress factors like contamination extremes. Review identifies research gaps understanding earthworm distribution, performance, capacity for remediation varied agro‐ecological contexts. In addition biotic factors, present also examines alternative habits superfoods strategies address zero hunger, aligning with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) poverty eradication, improved health, overall well‐being. By incorporating into systems addressing critical needs, there is significant potential mitigate contribute alleviation crises.
