Introduction Acupuncture analgesia (AA) is widely used in clinical practice. The autonomic nervous system (ANS) may be an important pathway for acupuncture signal transduction. However, real-time changes function during AA and the effect of “needle sensation” remain unclear. Methods We established a human pain model healthy adults randomly assigned 128 participants to model, sham acupuncture, groups 1:1:2 ratio. Heart rate variability (HRV), including total power (TP), low-frequency (LF), high-frequency (HF), ratio LF HF (LF/HF), standard deviation normal-normal intervals (SDNN), root mean square successive interval differences (RMSSD), were assess function. visual analog scale (VAS) efficiency analgesic acupuncture. Particularly, TCM practices, including acupuncture, emphasize mobilization self-healing mechanisms to bring back body homeostasis. Acupuncture has been practiced for over two thousand modulate via stimulation at specific regions (acupoints). With development various research on acupuncture therapy, its regulatory effect immune gradually recognized, especially immunological diseases, infectious and allergic In this study, we reviewed immunomodulatory mechanism systematically integrates existing respectively elucidate modulatory innate system, adaptive well-known neuroanatomical mechanisms, intact somatosensory-autonomic reflex pathway. advances made systems studies, now have a great opportunity gain insight into how modulates immunity, subsequently improves efficacy.

Insomnia disorder (ID) is one of the most common sleep problems, usually accompanied by anxiety and depression symptoms. Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) study suggests that both poor quality negative emotion are linked to dysregulation brain network related processing in ID patients. Acupuncture therapy has been proven effective improving mood patients, but involved neurobiological mechanism remains unclear. We aimed investigate modulation effect acupuncture on resting-state functional connectivity (rsFC) emotional (EN) patients experiencing insomnia. A total 30 healthy controls (HCs) 60 were enrolled this study. Sixty randomly assigned real sham groups attended fMRI scans before after 4 weeks treatment. HCs completed an MRI/fMRI scan at baseline. The rsFC values within EN calculated, Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), Depression (HAMD), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Hyperarousal (HAS), actigraphy data collected for clinical efficacy evaluation. Resting-state FC analysis showed abnormalities centered thalamus dorsolateral prefrontal cortex compared HCs. After treatment, anterior cingulate cortex, hippocampus, amygdala increased with group (p < 0.05, FDR corrected). In group, value was decreased between left treatment trend correlation found right hippocampus positively correlated HAMA scores across all negatively efficiency group. Our findings could produce a positive modulating which may illustrate central underlying insomnia regulation. http://www.chictr.org.cn ., ChiCTR1800015282, 20/03/2018.

Abstract Lack of liver regenerative capacity is the primary cause hepatic failure and even mortality in patients undergoing hepatectomy, with no effective intervention strategies currently available. Therefore, identifying efficacious interventions to enhance regeneration pivotal for optimizing clinical outcomes. Recent studies have demonstrated that vagotomy exerts an inhibitory effect on following partial thereby substantiating role played by vagus nerve process regeneration. In recent years, electroacupuncture (EA) has emerged as a non‐invasive technique stimulating nerve. However, EA remains uncertain. this study, 70% hepatectomy (PH) mouse model utilized investigate effects acute elucidate its underlying molecular mechanisms. It observed at ST36 acutely activated cholinergic neurons dorsal motor nucleus (DMV), resulting increased release acetylcholine from vagal endings subsequent activation IL‐6 signaling macrophages. Ultimately, these events promoted hepatocyte proliferation facilitated These findings provide insights into fundamental brain‐liver axis mechanism through which promotes regeneration, offering novel therapeutic approach post‐hepatectomy disorders.

Abstract To maintain current cognitive function and access greater reserves, nonpharmacological interventions may be a viable alternative for older adults with or without impairment. This study aimed to compare different enhancing global cognition, including mind–body exercise, physical non-invasive brain stimulation, training intervention (CTI), acutherapy (ACU), meditation, music therapy, by applying network meta-analysis (NMA). Sixty-one randomized controlled trials evaluating the efficacy of on cognition in mild decline were selected. An NMA was conducted interventions. The revealed that exercise (standardized mean difference, 1.384; 95% confidence interval, 0.777–1.992); ACU (1.283; 0.478–2.088); meditation (0.910; 0.097–1.724); stimulation (1.242; 0.254–2.230); CTI (1.269; 0.736–1.802); (0.977; 0.212–1.742), showed positive effects compared passive controls. There no significant differences between efficacies other Nonpharmacological potentially enhance through various pathways, such as memorizing movements plasticity reducing stress adult population. Neuropathic pain (NPP) is a devastating and unbearable painful condition. As prevailing treatment strategies have failed to mitigate its complications, there remains demand for effective therapies. Electroacupuncture (EA) has proved potent remedial strategy in NPP management humans mammals. However, past studies investigated the underlying mechanism of analgesic effects EA on NPP, focusing primarily adenosine receptors peripheral tissues. Herein, we elucidate role (Adora-3) signaling pathway mediating relief through central nervous system, which obscure literature needs exploration. Specific pathogen-free (SPF) male adult mice (C57BL/6 J) were utilized investigate effect metabolism (CD73, ADA) receptor activation (Adora-3), as potential mechanisms system. was induced via spared nerve injury (SNI). administered seven times post-SNI surgery, lumber (L4–L6) spinal cord collected determine molecular expression mRNA protein levels. In mice, following application, results revealed that upregulated (p < 0.05) Adora-3 CD73 by inhibiting ADA expression. addition, triggered release (ADO), modulated nociceptive responses enhanced neuronal activation. Meanwhile, interplay between ADO levels EA-induced antinociception, using an agonist antagonist, showed IB-MECA significantly increased thresholds contrast, antagonist MRS1523 exacerbated neuropathic pain. Furthermore, inferred when administered, fluorescent intensity cord. Taken together, effectively modulates regulating under conditions. This study aimed to investigate the analgesic efficacy of perioperative electroacupuncture in fifty-six healthy female dogs undergoing ovariohysterectomy as part a catch-neuter-release project. Ten minutes after sedation with 20 μg/kg medetomidine combined 0.3 mg/kg butorphanol intramuscularly, were randomly allocated into two groups and received either (EA, n = 27) or sham acupuncture (C, 29) treatment for 10 min (after until end surgery) at 6 different points LI-4 (Large intestine 4), LIV-3 (Liver 3), ST-36 (Stomach 36), SP-6 (Spleen 6) bilateral. After administration 0.2 meloxicam anesthesia induction 2 ketamine intravenously, was performed by same experienced surgeon using midline surgical approach dorsal recumbency. Pain evaluated blinded independent anesthetists Short Form Multimodal Glasgow Composite Scale (mCMPS-SF) before (T0), three (T3), six (T6), 24 h (T24) induction. Postoperative pain scores did not differ significantly between (p 0.36), but increased (T3) 0.001) (T6) hours surgery compared postoperative both groups. Three 89.4% postoperatively 71.4% exceeded intervention threshold mCMPS-SF, indicating need rescue analgesia. The results indicate that improve ovariohysterectomy. Therefore, 10-min may be insufficient provide effective assessment feral notably impacted anxious behavior, which have influenced final outcome ¾ early phase (T3, T6), suggesting widely used protocol consisting butorphanol, combination long-lasting sufficient relief.
