Abstract Context The relationship between food restriction (FR) and liver enzyme levels, such as alanine transferase (ALT), aspartate (AST), γ-glutamyl (GGT), has not yet been confirmed. Objective A meta-analysis of research articles was conducted to investigate the association FR levels. Data sources PubMed, Web Science, Embase, Cochrane Library databases were screened for published up April 30, 2022. extraction Preferred Reporting Items Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses statement methodology used search articles. Publication bias detected using Begg’s test. Finally, 17 trials involving 1982 participants that reported mean value, difference, standard deviation identified. analysis described weighted difference body mass index, weight, standardized (SMD) ALT, AST, GGT. reduction in ALT level observed after a intervention (total SMD, –0.36, 95% confidence interval [CI], –0.68 –0.05). GGT levels also decreased 4 studies –0.23; 95%CI, –0.33 –0.14). According subgroup analysis, serum AST medium-term (between 5 wk 6 mo) group (subtotal –0.48; –0.69 –0.28). Conclusion Existing evidence suggests dietary improves adult long-term maintenance healthy particularly real-world applications, necessitates additional consideration.

Intermittent fasting (IF) has been indicated as a valuable alternative to the classical caloric restriction dietary regimen for lowering body weight and preventing obesity-related complications, such metabolic syndrome type II diabetes. However, is it effective? In this review article, we analyzed over 50 clinical studies in which IF, conducted by alternate day (ADF) or time-restricted feeding (TRF), was compared with approach. We evaluated different roles of IF treating human disorders syndrome, diabetes, some types cancer, well usefulness reducing cardiovascular risk factors hypertension. Furthermore, explored cellular pathways targeted exert their beneficial effects activating effector proteins that modulate cell functions resistance oxidative stress. contrast, investigated concerns regarding health related adoption regimens, highlighting profound debate surrounding loss regimens. examined several trials formulate an updated concept its therapeutic potential.

Abstract Background The prevalence of obesity is rising globally and effective strategies to treat are needed. Intermittent fasting, a dietary intervention for weight management, has received growing interest from the general public, as well healthcare professionals, form lifestyle intervention. Methods We executed rapid review using PUBMED database identify systematic reviews that examined impact intermittent fasting on metabolic indices, published between 2011 2022. Results leads loss similar magnitude continuous energy restriction. Most evidence shows greater fat measured by mass (kg) or body percentage compared an ad libitum diet, but attained during not significantly different restriction, although recent be superior. There mixed insulin resistance, glucose lipid profile. Some studies focused populations Muslim people, which showed Ramadan may lead improvement parameters effects reversed when finished. Conclusions more than intake, equally management. However, there inconclusive whether clinically beneficial effect metabolism.

The first-line treatment for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is lifestyle modification; this should accompany any pharmacological intervention. Intermittent fasting (IF) has shown benefits over metabolic and cardiovascular parameters. Non-religious IF includes Time-Restricted Feeding (TRF), Alternate-Day Fasting (ADF), 5:2 interventions.

Intermittent fasting (IF) can be an effective dietary therapy for weight loss and improving cardiometabolic health. Abstract Introduction Intermittent fasting (IF) has gained popularity in recent years as a potential tool for promoting health and reducing disease risk. However, little research been done on the impact of fluid restrictive IF benign anorectal diseases. In this study, we aim to explore effects long periods conditions such hemorrhoids anal fissures, focusing role other influencing factors. Materials Methods This study utilized cohort design examine changes admissions hemorrhoidal fissure during Ramadan, period intermittent with restriction, compared remainder year. Patients admitted these between January 1, 2010, December 31, 2019, were divided into two groups: Ramadan group control (non-Ramadan) group. The primary endpoint was determine any significant differences groups. Results results showed that total 49,046 patients (0.68% all admissions) disease, 33,480 (0.45%) fissures reviewed. Admissions significantly higher at 0.9%, 0.7% (p < 0.001). no increase observed admittance rate Conclusion explores connection incidence, shedding light under-researched area. The practice of fasting recently has been purported to have clinical benefits, particularly as an intervention against obesity and its related pathologies. Although a number different temporal dietary restriction strategies employed in practice, they are generally classified under the umbrella term “intermittent fasting” (IF). IF can be stratified into two main categories: (1) intra-weekly (alternate-day fasting/ADF, twice-weekly fasting/TWF) (2) intra-daily (early time-restricted eating/eTRE delayed eating/dTRE). A growing body evidence indicates that is viable alternative daily caloric (DCR), showing effectiveness weight loss intervention. This paper narratively reviews literature on effects various commonly used composition when compared traditional DCR approaches, draws conclusions for their practical application. specific focus provided use combination with regimented exercise programs associated fat mass lean mass.
