Abstract We integrate insights from attachment theory and relational leadership to develop a novel interpersonal explanation of why, how when followers' anxiety avoidance impact performance. Objectives: Self-compassion, the capacity to hold a compassionate attitude towards oneself without self-criticism when in distress, has been conceptualized originate from receiving secure caregiving. The present study seeks to expand on research concerning the benefits of organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs) work-family facilitation (WFF) by integrating theoretical framework attachment personality perspective (Bowlby, 1982). We hypothesized that OCB would enhance WFF for employees having lower levels avoidance and anxious orientations but reduce with higher anxiety orientations. Two studies were conducted test these hypotheses. Study 1 adopted a cross-sectional design, 2 implemented diary procedure.
