Questions about how emissions are changing during the COVID-19 lockdown periods cannot be answered by observations of atmospheric trace gas concentrations alone, in part due to simultaneous changes transport, emissions, dynamics, photochemistry, and chemical feedback. A transport model simulation benefiting from a multi-species inversion framework using well-characterized should differentiate those influences enabling closely examine emissions. Accordingly, we jointly constrain NO x VOC TROPOspheric Monitoring Instrument (TROPOMI) HCHO NO2 columns months March, April, May 2020 (lockdown) 2019 (baseline). We observe noticeable decline magnitude March (14 %-31 %) several major cities including Paris, London, Madrid, Milan, expanding further Rome, Brussels, Frankfurt, Warsaw, Belgrade, Kyiv, Moscow (34 %-51 April. However, remain at somewhat similar values or even higher some portions UK, Poland, compared baseline, possibly timeline restrictions. Comparisons against surface monitoring stations indicate that constrained underrepresents reduction NO2. This underrepresentation correlates with TROPOMI frequency impacted cloudiness. During month when ample samples present, reductions occurring polluted areas described fairly well (model: -21 ± 17 %, observation: -29 21 %). The observational constraint on is found generally weak except for lower latitudes. Results support an increase ozone lockdown. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and attendant lockdown measures present serious threats to emotional well-being worldwide. Here, we examined the extent which being outdoors (vs. indoors), experience of loneliness, screen-time are associated with during COVID-19 using an experiencing sampling method. In April 2020, Austrian adults (N = 286, age M 31.0 years) completed a 21-day phase in they reported their (i.e., happiness), whether were indoors or outdoors, loneliness at three random time-points each day, as well daily screen-time. Results indicated that was higher well-being, whereas greater poorer well-being. Additionally, impact on weaker when participants than indoors. These results have health policy implications for promotion population pandemics.

Abstract Purpose Loneliness is associated with poor health including premature mortality. There are cross-sectional associations depression, anxiety, psychosis, and other mental outcomes. However, it not known whether loneliness causally linked the new onset of problems in general population. Longitudinal studies key to understanding this relationship. We synthesized evidence from longitudinal investigating relationship between problems, Method systematically searched six electronic databases, unpublished sources, hand-searched references, up August 2021. conducted a meta-analysis eight independent cohorts narrative synthesis remaining studies. Results included 32 studies, which majority focused on depression. Our found most show at baseline subsequent The few anxiety self-harm also showed positive association. pooled adjusted odds ratio 2.33 (95% CI 1.62–3.34) for risk depression adults who were often lonely compared people lonely. This should be interpreted caution given heterogeneity. Conclusion public issue. growing common problems. An increasing number of studies have addressed the psychological impact COVID-19 crisis on general population. Nevertheless, far less is known about specific populations such as university students, whose vulnerability has been shown in previous research. This study sought to examine different indicators mental health students during Spanish lockdown; we also analyzed main sources stress perceived by relation crisis, and coping strategies adopted when faced with situation. Data was collected from 932 (704 women) through a web-based platform. Measures anxiety (i.e., GAD-7), depression (PHQ-9), irritability, self-perceived change were administered, well ad hoc measures stressors strategies. Results indicated that experienced considerable problems confinement, higher rates emotional difficulties women undergraduate than men postgraduates, respectively. Psychological distress mainly related several domains stressors, participants: academic future, task overload, worsening interpersonal conflicts, restrictions pleasant social contact; spread disease its consequences for physical health. As regards strategies, both reframing skills daily routines be most effective. A path-analysis model integrating coping, revealed partially mediated effect In general, results suggest students’ substantially affected situation relational changes notable stress. reinforces need monitor promote boost resilience times crisis. Our findings suggest mindset, dynamic variables, be taught resilience-building prevention pandemic. Lastly, our shown parents (37%) friends (32%) were most frequently identified supporters minimal reported support from universities (2.5%).

This article is based two longitudinal studies that investigated role social media use in loneliness psychological distress before during pandemic. Study 1 utilized nationally representative 3-point data (n = 735) collected 2017-2020 Finnish population. 2 5-point 840) 2019-2021 representing working We analyzed using multilevel mixed-effects regression analysis. A analysis showed perceived did not increase among population Stronger involvement identity bubbles predicted lower results since outbreak pandemic, has increased lonely individuals but general Involvement generally it buffer against higher individuals. The findings suggest risk factor for prolonged negative effects Social can offer meaningful resources times distancing cannot protect those who perceive themselves as often lonely.

Cyberbullying involvement can lead to internal health issues, especially mental problems. Different coping strategies may reduce or enhance the strengths between cyberbullying experience and In this study, we examined correlations loneliness among a group of children adolescents during Covid-19 pandemic in China, focusing on investigating protecting effect resilient strategy. The results demonstrated that 86.68% students were not involved activities, 8.19% victims only, 1.89% was perpetrators 3.24% both perpetrators. Compared with non-involved, victims-only had significantly higher degree reported lower score coping, while differences other groups significant. Resilient strategy play mediating role victimization loneliness, but such mitigating relatively weak. Besides, peer relations primary protective factors, age risk factor controlled variables. This study enrich current knowledge psychological adolescents, context pandemic.

Background The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has led to increases in anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, burnout, grief, and suicide, particularly for healthcare workers vulnerable individuals. In some places, due low vaccination rates new variants of SARS-CoV-2 emerging, psychosocial strategies remaining resilient during an ongoing multi-faceted stressor are still needed. Elsewhere, thanks successful campaigns, countries have begun reopening but questions remain regarding how best recover, adjust, grow following the collective loss caused by pandemic.
