Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic forced higher education institutions to alter how they offer classes at an unprecedented pace. The COVID-19 pandemic has unexpectedly affected the educational process worldwide, forcing teachers and students to transfer an online teaching learning format. Compared with traditional face-to-face methods, teachers’ professional role, career satisfaction level, digital literacy have been challenged in health crisis. Abstract Background Research indicates that mental health worsened during the Coronavirus crisis, in particular among women and university students. However, few longitudinal studies have so far investigated changes outcomes across three subsequent waves of COVID-19 pandemic. There is abundant literature suggesting that university students in helping professions experience high levels of stress, leading to an increased risk developing burnout. The objective this study was identify burnout profiles a sample 1162 Spanish nursing and psychology undergraduates using latent profile analysis, person-oriented statistical method can hidden homogenous subgroups within heterogeneous population. We expected replicate the five-profile structure (burnout, overextended, disengaged, ineffective, engagement) proposed by Leiter Maslach dimensions (emotional exhaustion, cynicism, inefficacy) as indicators. results showed burnout, engagement were adequately replicated. Given inefficacy cynicism medium low, ineffective disengaged somewhat deviated from those identified Maslach. found differences between five several psychological variables, such depression anxiety. These suggest psychosocial factors (e.g., workload) are significant among may adversely impact their health, psychosomatic emotional disorders. Hence, designing effective interventions prevent health problems associated with seems advisable, considering specific student exhibits.
