Abstract Purpose The COVID-19 pandemic has been a leading cause of stress and feelings loss control, both which have related to eating disorder (ED) pathology onset deterioration. We aim estimate the magnitude changes in prevalence rates of, indicators for, ED psychopathology face pandemic. Method Pre-registered systematic review with frequentist Bayesian meta-analyses. Searches for eligible studies were performed PubMed, Web Science pre-print servers until January 15 2023. Results Our searches yielded 46 reporting on total 4,688,559 subjects. These data provide strong evidence indicating increased diagnosed self-reported ED’s concordant need care symptom severity scores patients not elevated during pandemic, except those anorexia nervosa. On average, people general population report relatively high levels emotional binge although evidential strength these associations is only anecdotal moderate. Abstract Background The Three Factor Eating Questionnaire-Revised 18 (TFEQ-R-18) is an extensively used questionnaire to measure three transdiagnostic features of eating behavior: cognitive restraint, uncontrolled eating, and emotional eating. Objective This research aims investigate the psychometric properties Italian version TFEQ-R-18 in large community samples. Method Cross-sectional designs were employed. Abstract Background Early treatment is critical to improve eating disorder prognosis. Single session interventions have been proposed as a strategy provide short term support people on waitlists for treatment, however, it not always possible access this early intervention. Conversational artificial intelligence agents or “chatbots” reflect unique opportunity attempt fill gap in service provision. Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted global mental health, exacerbating the prevalence and severity of Eating Disorders (EDs). This study evaluates changes in presentation EDs before after at Regional Residential Center “Mariconda” Salerno. Methods retrospective cohort analyzed records from 162 patients admitted to center between December 2018 2023. onset restrictions mid-2020 divided subjects into pre-COVID COVID groups. Data collected included age, gender, education level, previous hospital admissions, admission diagnoses, body mass index (BMI), comorbidity with other psychiatric conditions. Results Among subjects, 115 (71%) were during period. group was younger (mean age: 18.3 vs. 20.6 years, p = 0.009), had lower educational attainment (67% 49% below secondary school diploma, 0.025), a higher rate prior hospitalizations (49% 26%, 0.007), demonstrated severe comorbidities illnesses (94% 82%, 0.009) compared cohort. No significant differences observed gender distribution, initial diagnoses upon admission, or average length stay. Conclusion findings indicate that intensified EDs, particularly among individuals backgrounds. underscores urgent need for targeted, integrated treatment approaches context crises, including development strategies address increased comorbid conditions frequency readmissions this study.
