Family resilience is an important protective factor mitigating the negative impact of adversities on individuals and families. As there are very few validated measures family in Chinese context, we have developed Resilience Scale (C-FRS) based framework Froma Walsh. In this paper, outline development validation C-FRS with reference to socio-cultural context Hong Kong. Under COVID-19, because of extensive online learning and the use internet for communication, there is a risk intensification Internet addiction (IA) in young people. Unfortunately, are very few related studies different Chinese contexts, including Hong Kong. In this study, we examined several research gaps literature with reference to university students Kong: a) prevalence IA; b) socio-demographic factors c) relationships between IA other mental health problems stressors (i.e., comorbidity); protective IA. To address above issues, conducted an survey early 2021 (N = 1,648) using validated instruments on IA, psychological well-being, stress. Based Young Addiction Scale, roughly half respondents could be considered as showing excessive symptoms. Regarding demographic correlates younger those who experienced personal financial difficulty showed higher levels, was no observed gender difference. There were positive symptoms (depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, suicidal behavior, hopelessness) stresses (difficulties encountered unmet psychosocial needs), suggesting co-morbidity also negatively associated attributes such flourishing emotional competence, which regarded protecting people from Results discussed ecological risks amongst context.

Results After analysis structural equations, results showed that positively predicted needs motivation; but negatively Conclusions model describes possible importance promoting protective factor for well-being health. These findings highlight motivational strategies teachers must implement promote student well-being.

In addition, findings on socio-demographic correlates and psychological well-being predictors unclear. Finally, researchers not systematically interaction effects factors (particularly gender personal infection COVID-19) morbidity IA. This pioneer study aimed to investigate predictive role IA, moderating COVID-19 relationship between Methods We conducted an online survey ( N = 1,020 students) during ending phase Wave 5 pandemic Kong (late 2022 early 2023). Socio-demographic included age, gender, living status, family financial situation, student COVID-19. Participants responded validated measures morbidity, including depression, suicidal behavior, hopelessness. Hierarchical regression simple slope analyses were used examine variables interactive effect with Results Personal difficulty was significant predictor Depression, hopelessness positively predicted also found While depression stronger males than females, more strongly related females males. behavior Conclusion socio-economic correlate Psychological Gender moderated linkage The enhance our understanding individual differences particularly concerning different ecological risk factors.

Objective To test the psychometric properties of Chinese version biological rhythms interview assessment in neuropsychiatry (C-BRIAN) a group young adults with and without depressive symptoms. Methods Three hundred seventy-eight university students were recruited as participants. Based on scores from Center for Epidemiological Survey Depression Scale (CES-D), divided into depressed healthy group. Explorative factor analysis was applied to assess construct validity C-BRIAN. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) CES-D compared C-BRIAN convergent validity. internal consistency also examined. Results factors extracted (activities, eating patterns, sleep factors) explaining 63.9% total variance. consistencies very good coefficient 0.94 (overall) 0.89–0.91 three factors. domains activities, moderately correlated PSQI ( r =0.579) =0.559) (ps<0.01). Conclusion Our findings suggest that has reliability which can be used rhythm adult population would reliable tool detect symptoms timely prevention intervention community.
