This study evaluated the efficacy of Turraea fischeri leaf extract for maintaining viability cryopreserved goat sperm. Ejaculated semen was collected from 5 mature Baladi bucks (50-60 kg, 2-4 years age) and those samples with mass motility ≥ 70% sperm concentration 2.5 × 109/mL were selected, pooled, divided into 4 aliquots. Each aliquot diluted in Tris-citric-soybean lecithin extender containing a different T. (0, 125, 250, or 375 µg/mL). Treated cooled to °C, transferred 0.25-mL French straws, stored liquid nitrogen (LN2) at -196 °C. After thawing, membrane integrity examined by transmission electron microscopy, apoptotic activity Annexin/propidium iodide staining flow cytometry, both enzyme activities antioxidant capacity spectroscopic assays. The µg/mL significantly improved quality as indicated enhanced total capacity, reduced H2O2 concentration, greater proportion structurally intact motile sperm, concomitant reductions apoptosis necrosis. also increased contiguous plasma acrosome (p < 0.05). Furthermore, LC-MS revealed numerous secondary metabolites that may contribute cryopreservation.

Cellular metabolic activities are controlled by pathways catalyzed enzymes, closely regulated signal transduction through induction or inhibition processes. Metabolic disorders and cellular dysregulation often linked to redox-dependent signaling in a complex relationship. Glutathione (GSH) polyphenols which known regulators of redox homeostasis have been studied immensely. However, no study has considered their potential interactions synergies as novel mechanisms control disorders. GSH does not only act an antioxidant, but ligand that binds inactivate enzymes toxins. Also, depending on environment, structure, pH, concentration availability transition metals high charge density, may possess either anti-oxidant pro-oxidant properties. Owing remarkable influence individual compounds, this the between disease management. Generally, both reduce oxidative stress normal cells under exacerbating conditions low GSH/GSSG ratio, induce apoptotic abnormal cells. Investigating effects polyphenol concentrations, metals, caloric restriction structure apoptosis proliferation cancer future be basis for synergistic exploitation

This review summarizes knowledge regarding polyphenols’ possible positive negative effects their bioavailability. bioavailability substances a prerequisite for any postabsorption effect vivo. Positive properties have been confirmed previous studies on rich polyphenols, such as secondary metabolites plants. Free radicals formed every organism, leading to oxidative stress. highly reactive molecules can react cells macromolecules cause damage, including reproductive cells. Some at specific concentrations antioxidant that positively affect animal reproduction by improving quality male female gametes. intake phytoestrogens mimic estrogen function induce various pathological conditions tract, ovarian, fallopian, uterine dysfunction. metabolism genistein daidzein yields equol p-phenyl-phenol, decline cow fertilization. findings so far confirm numerous questions still need be answered. points out importance using both benificial some unfavorable diets.

The interplay between functional food nutrients and neurosteroids has garnered significant attention for its potential to enhance stress resilience in health and/or disease. Several bioactive nutrients, including medicinal herbs, flavonoids, bioavailable polyphenol-combined nanoparticles, as well probiotics, vitamin D omega-3 fatty acids, have been shown improve blood-brain barrier (BBB) dysfunction, endogenous neurosteroid homeostasis brain function. These can inhibit oxidative neuroinflammation, which are linked the pathogenesis of various neurological disorders. Interestingly, flavonoids exhibit dose-dependent effects, activating nuclear factor erythroid 2-related 2 (Nrf2) pathway at physiological/low dose (neurohormesis). This leads upregulation antioxidant phase II genes proteins such heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) sirtuin-1 (Sirt1), activated by curcumin resveratrol, respectively. adaptive neuronal response mechanisms help protect against reactive oxygen species (ROS) neurotoxicity. Impaired Nrf2 hormone signaling exacerbate selective vulnerability neuroinflammatory conditions, contributing onset progression neurodegenerative psychiatric disorders, Alzheimer's disease, anxiety depression other due neurons stress. review focuses on targeting redox regulate BBB damage associated with altered GABAergic neurotransmission. By exploring underlying molecular using innovative technologies, we aim develop promising neuroprotective strategies personalized nutritional neuroregenerative therapies prevent or attenuate ultimately promoting health.

In livestock production, ruminant feed resources are often scarce, and numerous challenges arise during such as immune disorders oxidative stress. Mulberry leaves rich in various nutrients exhibit significant antioxidant immune-regulating properties. Therefore, they can be used an unconventional resource production. This study investigated the effects of mulberry (ML) a supplement on blood biochemical parameters hindgut microbial structure Hu sheep. Sixteen sheep were randomly divided into two groups fed either 0 or 60 g/d ML. Compared to control group, ML showed increase AKP ( P = 0.027) GPT 0.002) levels blood, while TP 0.001) decreased significantly. Additionally, there was increasing trend GSH-Px 0.082) CAT 0.058) levels. Additionally, nanoencapsulation technology biological efficiency MLEE was considered. A total 56 were randomly divided into four experimental groups treated with 50 mg/kg body weight (BW) nonencapsulated MLEE, 25 or 10 BW nanoencapsulated not (Control, C). The treatments continued for days, including mating pregnancy times. Physiological hematochemical variables, hormonal profiles, (kindling rate litter characteristics) determined. active components identified. results indicated that has 30 components. All MLEE-based reduced heat-stress-related indicators, such as rectal temperatures, respiratory rates heart rate; improved attributes, redox status, hormones (progesterone prolactin); increased size, kindling rate, size at birth birth. Adding can alleviate negative impacts heat stress by improving metabolism, balance during pregnancy. These effects seen whether MLLE in free encapsulated forms. However, use allowed 80% reduction (10 BW) optimal dose (50 without affecting treatment. support importance bioavailability when they are orally administered.

Androgen production primarily occurs in Leydig cells located the interstitial compartment of testis. In aging males, testosterone is crucial for maintaining muscle mass and strength, bone density, sexual function, metabolic health, energy levels, cognitive as well overall well-being. As men age, by testes begins to decline at a rate approximately 1% per year starting from their 30s. This review highlights recent findings concerning use natural polyphenolics compounds, such flavonoids, resveratrol, phenolic acids, enhance production, thereby preventing age-related degenerative conditions associated with insufficiency. Interestingly, most polyphenolic antioxidants having beneficial effects on tend expression steroidogenic acute regulatory protein (Star) gene cells. The STAR facilitates entry steroid precursor cholesterol inside mitochondria, rate-limiting step androgen biosynthesis. Natural compounds can also improve activities enzymes, hypothalamus-pituitary gland axis signaling, bioavailability. Thus, many luteolin, quercetin, ferulic acid phenethyl ester or gigantol may be promising delaying initiation late-onset hypogonadism accompanying males.
