This study has shown that the Ag-deposited ZnO and TiO2 nanoparticles can be ideally used to degrade mineralize levofloxacin under UV radiation with lower efficiency visible light. The presence of Ag on surface photocatalysts contributes activation even light; moreover, they effectively prevent recombination photogenerated electrons holes by metal oxides, resulting in higher performance these modified photocatalysts. best nominal loading catalyst dosage were 5 wt% 1 g/L, respectively, resulted 99 91% removal for Ag/ZnO Ag/TiO2 irradiation. These values decreased 56 49% light due photon energy only activate Ag. total organic carbon was also measured irradiation, 97% 84%, respectively. kinetics photocatalytic degradation followed pseudo-first order kinetic model, all conditions, rate constant ZnO-based than TiO2-based samples. Considering contribution dark adsorption first 30 min process, pure much more pronounced Ag/TiO2. 36 24% (with 10 Ag), when occurred cyclic showed reasonable results no significant loss observed.

Abstract Active pharmaceutical ingredients have emerged as an environmentally undesirable element because of their widespread exploitation and consequent pollution, which has deleterious effects on living things. In the pursuit sustainable environmental remediation, biomedical applications, energy production, there been a significant focus two-dimensional materials (2D materials) owing to unique electrical, optical, structural properties. Herein, we synthesized 2D zinc oxide nanosheets (ZnO NSs) using facile practicable hydrothermal method characterized them thoroughly spectroscopic microscopic techniques. The are used efficient photocatalyst for antibiotic (herein, end-user ciprofloxacin (CIP) was model antibiotic) degradation under sunlight. It is observed that ZnO NSs photodegrade ~ 90% CIP within two hours sunlight illumination. molecular mechanism proposed based ex-situ IR analysis. Moreover, ZNO antimicrobial agent exhibit antibacterial qualities against range bacterial species, including Escherichia coli , Staphylococcus aureus MIC bacteria found be 5 μg/l 10 μg/l, respectively. Despite having biocompatible nature ZnO, as-synthesized also shown cytotoxicity types cancer cells, i.e. A549 A375. Thus, showed nontoxic nature, can exploited promising alternatives in different applications.

S-scheme heterojunction of NiFe layered double hydroxide (LDH) loaded onto CuWO4 was constructed via a hydrothermal approach. Different characterization techniques were used to understand the morphology, particle size, surface area, chemical composition, and crystallinity photocatalysts. Furthermore, recyclability test showed only 10-12% decrease in efficiency after six catalytic cycles display higher stability heterojunction. Further, reduction nitrobenzene aniline carried out room temperature without any external reducing agent. displays maximum yield 90% 240 with 100% selectively.
