Polyamines (Pas) are short molecules that exhibit two or three amine groups positively charged at a physiological pH. These small present in high concentrations wide variety of organisms and tissues, suggesting they play an important role cellular physiology. include spermine, spermidine, putrescine, which roles age-related diseases have not been completely elucidated. Aging is natural process, defined as the time-related deterioration functions; it considered risk factor for degenerative such cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, musculoskeletal diseases; arthritis; even cancer. In this review, we provide new perspective on participation Pas molecular processes related to diseases, focusing our attention Alzheimerߣs disease, Parkinsonߣs osteoarthritis, sarcopenia, osteoporosis. This leads us propose function novel biomarkers with main purpose achieving alternatives healthier aging.

Abstract: Diabetes and sarcopenia are emerging as serious public health issues. Sarcopenia, an age-related disorder characterized by loss of skeletal muscle mass function, is recognized a new complication in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Type insulin resistance, chronic inflammation, accumulation advanced glycation products increased oxidative stress, which can negatively affect mass, strength function leading to sarcopenia. Chronic inflammatory responses have been reported to be associated with low muscle mass and systemic immune-inflammation index(SII) is a novel indicator of inflammation. The purpose our study was clarify the relationship between SII mass. This cross-sectional based on National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (2011-2018). calculated as platelet count × neutrophil count/lymphocyte count. Appendicular skeletal index used define mass. individuals were divided into four groups by quartile (Q1-Q4). Abstract Background It has been proposed that inflammation plays a role in the development of sarcopenia. This study aimed to investigate links complete blood cell count (CBC) parameters and CBC-derived inflammatory indicators with sarcopenia mortality. Methods Data pertaining were extracted from 1999–2006 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), mortality events ascertained through Death Index up December 31, 2019. The assessed this included neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), derived (dNLR), monocyte-to-lymphocyte (MLR), neutrophil-monocyte lymphocyte (NMLR), systemic response index (SIRI), immune-inflammation (SII). prognostic significance these was evaluated using random survival forests (RSF) analysis. Results encompassed cohort 12,689 individuals, among whom 1,725 diagnosed Among individuals sarcopenia, 782 experienced all-cause mortality, 195 succumbed cardiovascular causes. Following adjustment for confounding variables, it observed elevated levels NLR, dNLR, NMLR, SIRI, SII associated an increased prevalence participants those highest quartile NLR (HR = 1.336 [1.095–1.631]), dNLR 1.274 [1.046–1.550]), MLR 1.619 [1.290–2.032]), NMLR 1.390 [1.132–1.707]), SIRI 1.501 [1.210–1.862]) exhibited risk compared lowest inflammation-derived indicators. These associations similarly 1.874 [1.169–3.003] MLR, HR 1.838 [1.175–2.878] SIRI). RSF analysis indicated predictive power both Conclusions Our findings underscore association between adults Of note, emerged as most robust predictor population.

Abstract Background In recent years, the research on relationship between sarcopenia before and after treatment of esophageal cancer, as well its impact prognosis has increased rapidly, which aroused people’s attention to disease patients with cancer complicated sarcopenia. This review examines prevalence in (before surgery or chemotherapy) cancer. Moreover, we summarized potential pathogenesis pharmacologic non-pharmacologic therapies. Methods A narrative was performed PubMed Web Science using keywords (“esophageal cancer” “esophageal neoplasm” “neoplasm, esophageal” “esophagus neoplasms” esophagus” “neoplasms, “cancer “cancer, “cancers, cancers” cancers”) (“sarcopenia” “muscular atrophy” “aging” “senescence” “biological aging” “aging, biological” “atrophies, muscular” “atrophy, atrophies” muscle” “muscle atrophies”). Studies reporting were analyzed. Results The results suggest that average 46.3% ± 19.6% ranging from 14.4 81% can be an important predictor poor Patients suffer due their nutritional deficiencies, reduced physical activity, chemotherapy, effects certain inflammatory factors pathways. When classic diagnostic values for such skeletal muscle index (SMI) are not available clinically, it is also feasible predict simpler metrics, calf circumference (CC), five-count sit-up test (5-CST), six-minute walk distance (6MWD). Conclusions Identifying mechanism implementing appropriate interventions may hold key improving these patients.

Sarcopenia is a condition characterized by the loss of muscle mass and function. It risk factor for adverse clinical outcomes, including falls, disability, mortality in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).
