During the emergency online pivot, two faculties (i.e., divisions) of a large Irish university aimed to document insights about teaching and learning in context COVID-19 pandemic. An anonymous survey all staff within each faculty was undertaken, some results which are presented here. Key findings focus on use technology higher education, demonstrating differential impacts different disciplines year groups, pointing levels educator readiness need for focused professional development training prepare integrating ensure satisfactory outcomes. The pivot led significant progress greater academic recognition benefits scope afforded by technology. The COVID-19 pandemic has left a mark on education as it had been known before. Beyond his, attention needs to be paid the transition back face-to-face learning and its implications. Within this context of change, present research focuses identifying students’ preferred aspects online during pandemic, namely learning, teaching, assessment, interaction with peers teachers, in order improve by contextually adapting their needs. Background The effectiveness of online learning in higher education during the COVID-19 pandemic period is a debated topic but systematic review on this absent. Methods present study implemented 25 selected articles to comprehensively evaluate and identify factors that influence such effectiveness. Results It was concluded past studies failed achieve consensus over research results are largely by how assessed, e.g., self-reported effectiveness, longitudinal comparison, RCT. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a sudden transformation at universities. previous mode of teaching been replaced by remote education, the effectiveness which depends, among other things, on technological infrastructure universities and digital competence lecturers students. main objective this study is to evaluate learning in higher education from students’ point view. uniqueness present research approach lies identification four dimensions (socio-emotional, developmental, time-financial, negative attitude) evaluation education. survey was conducted 999 students studying remotely, including 518 women 481 men. Most surveyed had remotely for 1–2 years were full-time their first degree. tool consisted 16 mixed questions. Six them related sociodemographic factors (including those respondents’ education), eight experiences with opinions respectively. remaining two questions used collect evaluations degree importance various advantages disadvantages showed that students, most important are saving time, possibility university far home (another city, another country), combining work study, reduced commuting costs. Since the beginning of year 2020, when whole world were undergoing COVID-19 epidemic, all schools lockout and classes suspended until e-learning was rushed to be online for students continue their learning, including in China. Although many studies had discussed effectiveness learning from different points views, it still remained uncertainties on qualities distance especially under circumstances rush students’ involuntary learning. This manuscript attempted determine whether expectation reach or not. In this manuscript, snowball sampling method adopted have 356 who studied at vocational-technical teachers’ college Based confirmation theory its model, five hypotheses proposed construct a research model relationship between student’s expectancy belief, course satisfaction, effectiveness, continuous intention facing dilemma but continues, during ongoing pandemic.
