This study aims to explore the sociocultural acceptance towards appearance concerning body mass index (BMI) among female university students (N = 414). The were selected from various faculties using a stratified sampling technique through an online platform in cross-sectional study. Sociocultural Attitudes Towards Appearance Questionnaire – 4 was employed measure internalisation of ideals and appearance-related pressure, such as internalised muscular-athletic, thin-low fat, well pressures family, peers, media. Sociodemographic weight height also reported. factor fat has highest mean score, while lowest score pressure peers. Pressures media significantly different BMI categories. However, finding contradicted with muscular-athletic fat. Objective: This study aimed to examine the association between appearance comparison and adolescent depressive symptoms, mediating role of body appreciation, moderating roles gender body-mass index (BMI) among adolescents in different age groups. Methods: A cross-sectional sample 2645 Chinese students aged 12– 16 years (44.7% girls) participated. The measurements included comparison, weight, height. Multigroup path analysis was used moderated mediation model. Results: Compared with boys, girls presented greater levels appearance, which increased age. Body appreciation mediated symptoms girls, whereas directly correlated boys. decreased increasing BMI boys but remained relatively stable girls. Background: Nowadays, aesthetic dermatology treatment has become not only physical beautification but also it can have positive effects on patients’ mental health. Body dysmorphic disorder be the reason for dissatisfaction. In general population, prevalence of BDD is 1.9% and more common among cosmetic patients. The aim this study was to conduct most comprehensive evaluation body image Methods: We recruited a group 412 individuals, who were asked complete 6 different on-line questionnaires concerning self-image, i.e., COPS, AAI, FAS, BAS-2, BSQ-16, RSES. Results: ranged from 7.28% 11.17%, depending screening tool that used. Our research revealed susceptibility, image, appreciation, self-esteem strongly interrelated (p < 0.001). A higher BMI risk factor BDD, dissatisfaction, depreciation. financial status markedly influenced all features. history psychiatric satisfaction, self-esteem. procedures satisfaction had no impact obtained results. Conclusions: Improving recognition dissatisfaction patients very important. psychometric assessment before could help in choosing appropriate approach.

BACKGROUND As social media platforms gain popularity, their usage is increasingly associated with cyberbullying and body shaming, causing devastating effects. OBJECTIVE This study aims to investigate the impact of on Generation Z users’ image satisfaction. More specifically, it examines TikTok satisfaction among users aged between 17 years 26 in Indonesia. METHODS The methodology used mixed-method approaches. Quantitative data were obtained from 507 responses a questionnaire analyzed using covariance-based structural equation modeling. Qualitative interviews 32 respondents through content analysis. RESULTS reveals that upward appearance comparison influenced by video-based activity motivation. Conversely, thin-ideal internalization motivation literacy. Upward comparisons detrimentally CONCLUSIONS results this are expected provide valuable insights for providers, regulators, educators endeavors establish positive healthy environment users. The aim of this study was to measure the level self-esteem among individuals with piercings, evaluate body image perception, and screen group for dysmorphic disorder symptoms. Two hundred six from Poland completed Appearance Anxiety Inventory (AAI), Body Dysmorphic Disorder Questionnaire-Dermatology Version (BDDQ-DV), Functionality Appreciation Scale (FAS), Rosenberg Self Esteem (RSES). Differences between groups were determined using a two-sample t-test, post-hoc chi-square test Bonferroni’s adjustment, Kruskal–Wallis test, Mann–Whitney test. One ninety-six (95.1%) respondents females, 10 (4.9%) males, aged 15 48 years (mean age ± SD = 23.1 6.4 years). Of respondents, 25.7% screened positive BDD symptoms according AAI 29.1% BDDQ-DV. According FAS, significantly lower presented by psychiatric treatment (3.8 0.9 vs. 4.1 0.7, p < 0.05) who Significantly reported in comorbidities, treatment, BDD-groups RSES (AAI: 24.0 5.6 30.9 6.0; 0.001; BDDQ-DV: 5.8 31.3 3.7; 0.001).
