ABSTRACT
This
essay
explores
the
complex
nature
of
forgiveness
and
unforgiveness
as
responses
to
wrongdoing.
Traditionally,
has
been
framed
a
process
that
promotes
psychological
relational
well‐being,
whereas
is
often
viewed
harmful.
Perhaps
because
these
tendencies,
researchers
have
documented
many
benefits
associated
with
but
paid
less
attention
possibility
there
may
be
situations
in
which
legitimate,
appropriate,
perhaps
even
adaptive.
We
propose
psychology
literature
could
benefit
from
systematic
investigation
its
complexity,
potential
moral
dimensions,

advocating
for
more
comprehensive
nuanced
understanding

unforgiveness,
we
seek
not
diminish
or
prior
research
but,
rather,
encourage
balanced
perspective
on
constructs

Resilient
agility
is
a
novel
concept
that
