Emerging evidence suggests that mental health symptoms in COVID-19 survivors are higher than expected, possibly indicating such more likely to develop post-infection just persist as a residual component of the acute phase. This systematic review ansd meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effects of L-theanine, a non-proteinogenic amino acid found in tea, on sleep outcomes. Literature searches were conducted five electronic databases (APA PsycINFO, CINAHL, Medline, Scopus, Web Science), and one register (Cochrane Central Register Controlled Trials) from inception until September 2024. Randomised controlled trials investigating L-theanine supplementation quality humans all ages health status included.
