Abstract Background Campus lockdown orders were issued for the purpose of preventing and controlling COVID-19, which resulted in psychological problems among college students. However, experiences they have during pandemic may also lead to positive personal changes, including posttraumatic growth (PTG). Abstract During the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, both high levels of post-traumatic stress and positive personal changes, a phenomenon known as growth (PTG), were experienced by some people. What remains unknown are constructs facilitators PTG during COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, this study uses grounded theory methodology to elucidate behavioral cognitional dimensions in Chinese college students. Twenty-four individual semi-structured interviews conducted with students who had experiences epidemic. Transcripts analyzed using initial focused coding identify themes that explained model. The association between post-traumatic growth (PTG) and cognitive empathy is well documented; however, few studies have tested the causal pathways explaining this in school bullying victims’ later recovery long term. This study used a longitudinal design to examine reciprocal relations victims.
