In this study, we investigated for the first time anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties of crude polysaccharide (PSHT) extracted from green marine algae Halimeda tuna. PSHT exhibited anti-oxidant activity in vitro through scavenging 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydroxyl free radical, reducing Fe3+/ferricyanide complex, inhibiting nitric oxide. maintained erythrocyte membrane integrity prevented hemolysis. Our results also showed that exerted a significant anti-edematic effect vivo by decreasing advanced oxidation protein products malondialdehyde levels increasing superoxide dismutase glutathione peroxidase activities rat’s paw model erythrocytes. Interestingly, increased viability murine RAW264.7 macrophages an on lipopolysaccharide-stimulated cells pro-inflammatory molecule levels, including oxide, granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α). findings indicate could be used as potential immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, anti-hemolytic, agent. These explained computational showing building blocks bound both cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) TNF-α with acceptable affinities.

In this study, we characterized the bioactive properties of three important brown seaweed species, Sargassum thunbergii, Undaria pinnatifida, and Saccharina japonica, by subcritical water extraction (SWE), as these species are well known for their beneficial health effects. Their physiochemical properties, including potential antioxidant, antihypertensive, α-glucosidase inhibitory activity, antibacterial activity hydroysates were also analyzed. The highest total phlorotannin, sugar content, reducing content in S. thunbergii hydrolysates 38.82 ± 0.17 mg PGE/g, 116.66 0.19 glucose/g dry sample, 53.27 1.57 respectively. ABTS+ DPPH antioxidant activities obtained japonica (124.77 2.47 46.35 0.01 Trolox equivalent/g, respectively) FRAP was (34.47 0.49 equivalent/g seaweed). addition, extracts showed antihypertensive (≤59.77 0.14%) (≤68.05 1.15%), against foodborne pathogens. present findings provide evidence biological application food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic sectors.
