Background The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on young people’s (YP) mental health has been mixed. Systematic reviews to date have focused predominantly quantitative studies and lacked involvement from YP with lived experience difficulties. Therefore, our primary aim was conduct a qualitative systematic review examine perceived YP’s (aged 10–24) wellbeing across Europe. Methods findings We searched MEDLINE, PsycINFO, Embase, Web Science, MEDRXIV, OSF preprints, Google, voluntary sector websites for published 1 st January 2020 15 th November 2022. European were included if they reported data that could be extracted own perspectives their experiences related disruptions wellbeing. Screening, extraction appraisal conducted independently in duplicate by researchers difficulties (co-researchers). Confidence assessed using Evidence Reviews Qualitative Research (CERQual) approach. co-produced an adapted narrative thematic synthesis co-researchers. This study is registered PROSPERO, CRD42021251578. found 82 publications 77 unique synthesis. Most UK (n = 50; 65%); generated during first wave (March-May 2020; n 33; 43%). Across 79,491 participants, views, minoritised ethnicity sexual orientation, marginalised or vulnerable limited. Five synthesised themes identified: negative information restrictions wellbeing; education learning social connection prevent loneliness disconnection; emotional, lifestyle behavioural changes; support. Over the past years, COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant disruptions in daily routines. Although affected almost everyone, it been particularly challenging for people with pre-existing mental health conditions. Therefore, this study investigated long-term impact of resilience and extraversion on psychological distress individuals diagnosed disorders (MHD) compared to general population. In addition, possible gender-specific differences were investigated. 123 patients MHD 343 control subjects from Austria Italy participated three online surveys that had conducted after initial wave (t0), during second lockdown both countries (t1), one year thereafter (t2). Participants completed standardized questionnaires (Brief-Symptom-Checklist), (Resilience Scale), (Big Five Inventory). A mediation model was employed test primary hypothesis. Possible analyzed using a moderated model. The prevalence consistently higher controls (t0: 37.3% vs. 13.2%, t1: 38.2% vs 11.7%, t2: 37.4% 13.1%). This between-group difference at first follow-up fully mediated by baseline scores (65.4% total effect). During second-follow up, accounted 18% effect, whereas slightly decreased 56% effect. Gender not moderator Next showing pandemic, these findings indicate degrees are related less distress. Our stress relevance strengthening provide support times crises,
