Social anxiety is a serious psychological problem prevalent among Chinese college students, and appearance plays an important role in its development. Although some studies have explored the relationship between two, mediating mechanism unclear. This study constructed sequential mediation model based on cognitive-behavioral theory of body image disorder social phobia to explore self-efficacy self-esteem. A total 234 students were recruited using convenience sampling method, including 68 males (29.10%) 166 females (70.90%), with average age 21.25 years (SD = 1.75). Data collected Appearance Anxiety Scale, General Self-Efficacy Self-Esteem Interaction Scale. The study's results demonstrated significant positive predictive (effect 0.21, SE 0.04, 95% CI [0.13, 0.29], p < 0.001). not only directly affects but also has three indirect paths affecting anxiety: independent effect 0.03, 0.01, [0.00, 0.06], 0.001), self-esteem 0.02, [0.01, 0.07], serial 0.03], Direct effects accounted for 73.81% 26.19% effect, respectively. Introduction The increasing prevalence of mental health challenges among college students necessitates innovative approaches to early identification and intervention. This study investigates the application artificial intelligence (AI) techniques for predicting student risks. Methods A hybrid predictive model, Prophet-LSTM, was developed. model combines Prophet time series with Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks leverage their strengths in forecasting. Prior development, association rules between potential risk factors were identified using Apriori algorithm. These highly associated served as inputs Prophet-LSTM model. model’s weight coefficients optimized Quantum Particle Swarm Optimization (QPSO) performance evaluated data from a survey conducted at Chinese university. Results proposed demonstrated superior risks compared other machine learning algorithms. Evaluation metrics, including detection rate psychological issues no issues, confirmed high accuracy. Discussion demonstrates AI-powered models challenges. findings have significant implications improving services within higher education institutions. Future research should focus on further refining incorporating real-time streams, developing personalized intervention strategies based predictions.

BACKGROUND Functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) in children present with chronic symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation without identifiable structural abnormalities. These are closely linked to gut-brain axis dysfunction, altered gut microbiota, psychosocial stress, leading psychiatric comorbidities such as anxiety, depression, behavioral issues. Understanding this bidirectional relationship is crucial for developing effective, holistic management strategies that address physical mental health. AIM To examine the impacts of FGIDs children, focusing on anxiety depression their association other neurodevelopmental childhood, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, emphasizing role axis, emotional dysregulation, stress. Key mechanisms explored include neurotransmitter microbiota imbalance, central sensitization, heightening stress reactivity, symptom perception. The review also evaluates family dynamics coping exacerbating FGID contributing conditions. METHODS A narrative was conducted using 328 studies sourced from PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, covering research published over past 20 years. Inclusion criteria focused examining diagnosis, mechanisms, comorbidities, factors pediatric populations. commonly affecting including functional constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux, cyclic vomiting were analyzed concerning psychological impacts. RESULTS highlights a strong connection between symptoms, mediated by dysregulated sensitization. physiological disruptions increase children’s vulnerability while - early-life trauma, maladaptive dynamics, ineffective intensify cycle distress. CONCLUSION Effective requires biopsychosocial approach integrating medical, psychological, dietary interventions. Parental education, early intervention, multidisciplinary care coordination critical mitigating long-term improving both health outcomes FGIDs.
