Abstract Climate change's threat to global agriculture, especially cotton production, has led the adoption of mulching as a mitigation strategy. Organic mulches offer environmentally friendly benefits for in challenging environments. A study evaluated various organic mulches' effects on soil properties, yield, and quality semi-arid region with limited water high temperature fluctuations. Results showed that wheat straw, rice, sugarcane leaves straw maintained moderate temperatures (27.3°C 27.4°C), unlike control (41.6°C). Soil pH remained stable (7.9 8.1), raised carbon (0.68% 0.72% vs. 0.51% control). Nutrient availability increased, higher nitrogen (0.045% 0.049%), phosphorus (6.2 mg kg −1 6.5 ), potassium (89 92 ) compared (0.028%, 5.6 , 71 ). matter content rose (0.77% 0.81%) versus (0.51%). Weed density decreased (4 5 weeds m² 23 control) mulches. Cotton height, bolls per plant, open-boll weight increased mulches, elevating yield (2704 ha 2743 over (2117 consistent ginning outturn (36.62% 37.2%). similar, while reduced irrigation frequency (7 irrigations) total amount (533 mm); needed more (9 irrigations, 685 mm). Climate change presents a major public health concern in Australia, marked by unprecedented wildfires, heatwaves, floods, droughts, and the spread of climate-sensitive infectious diseases. Despite these challenges, Australia's response to climate crisis has been inadequate subject politics, sentiment, global developments. This study illustrates spatiotemporal patterns selected climate-related environmental extremes (heatwaves, droughts) across Australia during past two decades, summarizes adaptation measures actions that have taken national, state/territory, local governments. Our findings reveal significant impacts on well-being Australians. While governments implemented various strategies, plans must be further developed yield concrete actions. Moreover, Indigenous Australians should not left out efforts. A collaborative, comprehensive approach involving all levels government is urgently needed prevent, mitigate, adapt change.

ABSTRACT Aims This study aims to identify the impact of climate change anxiety and asthma control on asthmatics' quality life examine moderating role in this linkage. Method A multi‐national cross‐sectional was conducted four Arabian countries 1266 asthmatics selected by convenience sampling. Data were collected from November 2023 February 2024 using a scale, mini‐asthma questionnaire, an questionnaire. Results Climate higher among middle‐aged participants, as well those with longer disease durations previous hospitalisations. showed strong negative correlations ( r = −0.704, p ≤ 0.05) − 0.638, 0.05). are powerful predictors asthmatics. moderates relationship between life, making it less positive B −0.094, > 0.001). Abstract Background Volunteering is a form of prosocial behaviour that has been recognised as having positive benefits for medical students. However, there lack research on what influences students to volunteer during and after weather‐related disasters. Our study (1) explores factors related students' willingness readiness volunteer, (2) describes mental health impacts the flood events Methods We conducted mixed‐methods rural clinical placements in regional area Australia, 2 6 weeks two major flooding 2022. Data were collected through survey focus groups. Summary statistics generated from data, Fisher's exact test was used determine associations between student experience self‐rated well‐being. Qualitative data deductively analysed using Byrne colleagues' theory an emergency. Results The 36 who participated groups (including 34 completed survey) (response rates 84% 79%, respectively) demonstrated high levels behaviours willing volunteer. A sense moral obligation primary reason volunteering, whereas concerns their physical psychological safety, missing key aspects training, strongest reasons not continuing Students reported personal stress, anxiety trauma this period, with significant well‐being feelings being terrified, helpless hopeless still distressed later ( p < .05). Conclusions This expands by applying colleagues elaborated model context volunteering 2022 Australia. Modifiable barriers are identified along proposed strategies address these barriers.

The coastal environment represents a special site for human and economic activities. population growth in this area has led to strong urbanization and, therefore, the establishment of small-scale vegetable farms feed growing urban peri-urban populations. This is an opportunity youth employment reduce poverty as activity generates reliable incomes. However, recent years, climatic changes rapid have influenced agricultural activities area. aim study was characterize market gardening systems along Benin understand farmers’ perceptions adaptation strategies response ongoing environmental changes. Data collected from 130 using individual semi-structured questionnaires. A principal component analysis (PCA), K-Mean multivariate classification statistical inference were used data analysis. Climate change is a serious threat to the survival of our society. It causes unpredictable and extreme weather that endangers human natural lives. Human activities such as carbon emissions, waste dumping, deforestation worsen problem. News media can play key role in educating people encouraging positive actions protect environment. This study analysed news-related content on effects climate reported via various means information examined extent coverage for information. There exist significant disparities characteristics disseminated by news platforms, with social most frequent platform sharing Broadcast online outlets are less common.
