Hemoglobin is essential for maintaining cellular bioenergetic homeostasis through its ability to bind and transport oxygen the tissues. Besides oxygen, hemoglobin within erythrocytes plays an important role in signaling modulation of inflammatory response either directly by binding gas molecules (NO, CO, CO2) or indirectly acting as their source. Once reaches extracellular environment, it acquires several secondary functions affecting surrounding cells By modulating cell functions, this macromolecule becomes involved etiology pathophysiology various diseases. The up-to-date results disclose impact on (i) redox status, (ii) state cells, (iii) proliferation chemotaxis, (iv) mitochondrial dynamic, (v) chemoresistance (vi) differentiation. This review pays special attention applied biomedical research use non-vertebrate vertebrate a promising candidate hemoglobin-based carriers, well culture medium additive. PurposeThe hematological changes in COVID-19 patients continue to receive great attention, especially the field of public health. To our knowledge, coronavirus disease may be identified based on severity illness, and study peripheral blood smears offer important information facilitate identification. Thus, we evaluated morphological abnormalities (atypical immature lymphocytes, lymphocytes with micronuclei, various nuclear among erythrocytes) quantitative cells 48 individuals disease.MethodsThe present is a retrospective analysis individuals, including 24 hospitalized diagnosed disease. The all were subjected examination identify white red cells. In addition, micronucleus test was conducted assess incidence chromosomal damage lymphocytes. Furthermore, complete count (CBC) performed evaluate cells, particularly differential total leukocyte count, which could indicate immune response against viral infection patients.ResultsThe findings revealed neutrophilia, eosinophilia, mild monocytosis, decreased hematocrit level, elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), leukocytes. It observed that who infected demonstrated thrombocytopenia. indicated presence micronuclei numerous These results help shed light occur patients, potentially contribute development more effective treatments for disease.ConclusionsThe counts (CBCs) conjunction offers potential means identifying impact SARS-CoV-2 hematopoietic systems, thereby providing early indications inflammation. Based study, it has been suggested affect causing alterations establishing corresponding relationship severity.

Myeloid-derived suppressor cells MDSCs are a heterogeneous population of that expand beyond their physiological regulation during pathologies such as cancer, inflammation, bacterial, and viral infections. Their key feature is remarkable ability to suppress T cell natural killer NK responses. Certain risk factors for severe COVID-19 disease, obesity diabetes, associated with oxidative stress. The resulting inflammation stress can negatively impact the host. Similarly, cancer exhibit sustained increase in intrinsic ROS generation maintains oncogenic phenotype drives tumor progression. By disrupting endoplasmic reticulum calcium channels, intracellular accumulation disrupt protein folding ultimately lead proteostasis failure. In COVID-19, consist same two subtypes (PMN-MSDC M-MDSC). While main role polymorphonuclear dampen response cells, they also produce reactive oxygen species nitrogen RNS. We here review origin MDSCs, expansion mechanisms, suppressive functions context presence superoxide anion •O2− ROS.
