Abstract Flaxseed ( Linum usitatissimum L.) is renowned for having the highest concentration of lignans among all plant species worldwide. However, it also contains a notable amount cyanogenic glycosides, prompting efforts to reduce their levels. MicroRNAs, recognized as significant epigenetic factors, hold potential serve genetic markers in achieving this breeding goal. In study, 44,885 mature microRNAs were utilized alongside one genome and four transcriptomes flax. Twelve gene sequences obtained five lignan enzymes three related glycosides. Based on our silico approach, we identified 15 microRNA families metabolic pathway, 10 glycoside 6 regulating both pathways. Additionally, contributed annotation used verified functionality “Finding genes by keyword” algorithm available Phytozome 13. The results led design unique schema mediated regulation biosynthetic pathways This research will enhance understanding regulatory mechanisms these pathways, along with other specialized metabolites. predicted can be employed marker-assisted selection objective optimizing ratio nutritional antinutritional components flaxseed while maintaining current physiological parameters.

This work focuses on the biochemical defense mechanisms against free radicals and their role in building maintaining antioxidant shields, aiming show how balance, as much possible, situations which we are exposed radicals. To achieve this aim, foods, fruits, marine algae with a high content should constitute basis of nutritional elements, since natural products known have significantly greater assimilation efficiency. review also gives perspective use antioxidants can extend life food products, by protecting them from damage caused oxidation well additives.

Flaxseed, a rich source of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid alpha-linolenic (ALA), lignans, and soluble fiber, has attracted attention for its potential to improve multiple cardiometabolic risk factors. While benefits are well-recognized, comprehensive evaluations direct impact on clinical outcomes, such as the prevention or progression diseases, remain limited. Additionally, support healthy aging longevity through fundamental biological mechanisms not been fully elucidated. This review synthesizes existing research flaxseed supplementation, highlighting effects factors underlying mechanisms, broader implications health promotion aging. Findings demonstrate that supplementation significantly improves several factors, including body weight, mass index, lipid levels, blood pressure, glycemic measures, markers inflammation (e.g., C-reactive protein interleukin-6), oxidative stress, liver enzymes. Blood pressure reductions range from approximately 2 15 mmHg systolic 1 7 diastolic with magnitude influenced by dose, duration, baseline profiles. evidence linking hypertension, metabolic syndrome, dysfunction-associated steatotic disease, type diabetes, chronic kidney cardiovascular disease is limited, bioactive components-ALA, fiber-are strongly associated reduced risks these conditions. The mediated pathways, anti-inflammatory antioxidant effects, improved glucose metabolism insulin sensitivity, modulation gut microbiota, enhanced vascular health. Beyond may influence key processes relevant aging, underscoring promote longevity. Optimal appear be achieved ground whole at doses ≥ 30 g/day least 12 weeks, particularly among individuals high risk. Future should focus elucidating flaxseed's action, clarifying role in prevention, refining dietary recommendations harness interventions.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is presently considered a multifactorial pathology, which may lead to persistent inflammatory action of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) because an improperly managed immunological reactivity intestinal microbiota found in GIT. The immune response common commensal microbes plays essential role inflammation related UC synbiotics, and it important element optimal therapy UC. Therefore, i.e., mixture prebiotics probiotics, help control diseased state. Synbiotics alleviate colon by lowering reactive oxygen species (ROS) improving level antioxidant enzymes such as catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPX), superoxide dismutase (SOD). Prebiotic supplementation not practice at moment, despite numerous research findings proving that benefits both probiotics encourage their continued existence positioning GIT, with positive effects on human health managing response. However, fact there have been fewer studies treatment different coupled selected prebiotics, outcomes these very favorable. This evidence-based study explores possible ROS, SOD, synbiotics proposed review also focuses alteration gut microbiota, defense tract, management Thus, current article emphasizes oxidative stress signaling GI stress-based pathomechanisms patients, therapies inhibiting stress’ effects.

Aging is an inevitable process influenced by genetics, lifestyles, and environments. With the rapid social economic development in recent decades, proportion of elderly has increased rapidly worldwide, many aging-related diseases have shown upward trend, including nervous system diseases, cardiovascular metabolic cancer. The rising burden become urgent global health challenge requires immediate attention solutions. Natural products been used for a long time to treat various human diseases. primary cellular pathways that mediate longevity-extending effects natural involve nutrient-sensing pathways. Among them, sirtuin, AMP-activated protein kinase, mammalian target rapamycin, p53, insulin/insulin-like growth factor-1 signaling are most widely studied. Several studies reviewed individual compounds on aging along with underlying mechanisms. from food sources, such as polyphenols, saponins, alkaloids, polysaccharides, classified antiaging promote prolong life via In this article, we several recently identified potential properties highlighted their molecular discovery use dietary supplements can prevent multiple humans will be beneficial. Lignans are non-flavonoid polyphenols present in a wide range of foods frequently consumed the Western world, such as seeds, vegetables and fruits, beverages coffee, tea wine. In particular, human gut microbiota (GM) can convert dietary lignans into biologically active compounds, especially enterolignans (i.e., enterolactone enterodiol), which play anti-inflammatory anti-oxidant roles, act estrogen receptor activators modulate gene expression and/or enzyme activity. Interestingly, recent evidence documenting those interventions involving enriched have shown beneficial protective effects on various pathologies, including colorectal breast cancer cardiovascular diseases. However, considering that more factors (e.g., diet, food transit time intestinal redox state) bioactivation by GM, there usually remarkable inter-individual differences urine, fecal blood concentrations enterolignans; hence, precise validated analytical methods, gas/liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry, needed for their accurate quantification. Therefore, this review aims summarize roles enterolignans, interaction with GM new methodological approaches developed evaluation different biological samples, since they could be considered future promising nutraceuticals prevention chronic disorders.

Abstract Despite continued advances in prevention and treatment strategies, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain the leading cause of death worldwide, more effective therapeutic methods are urgently needed. Polygonatum is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine with variety pharmacological applications biological activities, such as antioxidant activity, anti-inflammation, antibacterial effect, immune-enhancing glucose regulation, lipid-lowering anti-atherosclerotic effects, diabetes anticancer effect. There has also been evidence to support cardioprotective effect recent years. However, up now, there lack comprehensive studies on active ingredients their pharmacotoxicological effects related diseases. Therefore, main components (including Polysaccharides, Flavonoids, Saponins) activities were firstly reviewed this paper. Furthermore, we summarized ’s preventing treating CVDs, its relevant toxicological investigations. Finally, emphasize potential CVDs.
