Silent information regulator sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) is an NAD+-dependent deacetylase with potent anti-arterial aging activities. Its protective function in aging-related diseases has been extensively studied. In the microcirculation, SIRT1 plays a crucial role preventing microcirculatory endothelial senescence by suppressing inflammation and oxidative stress while promoting mitochondrial optimizing autophagy. It suppresses hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α)-mediated pathological angiogenesis healthy, physiological capillarization. As result, protects against microvascular dysfunction, such as diabetic microangiopathy, enhancing exercise-induced skeletal muscle capillarization energy metabolism. brain, upregulates tight junction proteins strengthens their interactions, thus maintaining integrity of blood-brain barrier. The present review summarizes recent findings on regulation SIRT1, underlying mechanisms, various approaches to modulate activity microcirculation. importance molecular target diseases, retinopathy stroke, underscored, along need for more clinical evidence support modulation

Given the growing challenges posed by an ageing population, particularly in Western countries, we aimed to investigate potential geroprotective effects of resveratrol and melatonin rats. The animals were treated with these two compounds starting at 3 months age continuing until 1 year or 2 years age. Using a multibiomarker approach, assessed DNA damage, telomere length, oxidative status their urine, liver, kidneys. Despite employing this experimental our results did not provide conclusive evidence across evaluated organs. However, observed sex-dependent differences response treatment. high potency compounds, further research is warranted explore incorporation into daily routines as strategy mitigate ageing-related effects.

Ovarian cancer poses a significant threat to patients in its advanced stages, often with limited treatment options available. In such cases, palliative management becomes the primary approach maintaining reasonable quality of life. Therefore, administration any medication that can benefit without curative option holds potential. Resveratrol, natural compound known for vitro anticancer activities, has generated contrasting results vivo and human studies. this study, we aimed assess effects resveratrol on ovarian cells grown chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) chicken embryos. Two cell lines, OVCAR-8 SKOV-3, were cultured collagen scaffolds four days before being implanted CAM embryos day 7. Different doses applied every two six days. Subsequently, tissues excised, fixed, subjected histological analysis. Some tumours extracted analyse proteins through Western blotting. Our findings indicate specific significantly reduce angiogenic pNF-κB levels, SLUG protein levels by using immunohistochemistry. These suggest may have potential impact behaviour tumours, thereby warranting further consideration as complementary women incurable cancer.

Objectives: Resveratrol (RES) is well documented for its multiple health benefits, with a notable impact on cancer prevention and therapy. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of RES supplementation oxidative stress in patients head neck (HNC) receiving home enteral nutrition (HEN). Methods: randomized, single-center, open-label involved 72 adult patients, 40 completing intervention. Participants intervention group received 400 mg liposomal daily 12 weeks alongside HEN, while control HEN only. Body composition markers—including total antioxidant capacity (TAC), malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), reduced (GSH)—were measured at baseline after weeks. Results: Significant increases TAC SOD activity were observed both groups. GPx increased significantly only group. MDA levels rose groups but more pronounced GSH showed no significant changes. Phase angle (PhA) group, change was Conclusions: may enhance defenses, as evidenced by improvements levels, supporting balance HNC HEN. The higher reflect RES’s dual pro-oxidant activities. Additionally, increase PhA suggests potential cellular benefits. These findings highlight complementary clinical oncology, warranting further investigation clarify therapeutic effects care.

Resveratrol (RSV), a polyphenol with anti-aging properties affecting metabolism and energy balance, is considered as mimetic candidate to calorie restriction (CR). However its potential effects on delaying the onset of age-related diseases increasing longevity have not yet been demonstrated in non-obese models close humans such non-human primates. The longitudinal monitoring cognitive motor performances, occurrence pathologies, brain atrophy mortality was performed from adulthood death cohort male grey mouse lemurs (Microcebus murinus, N = 33), all receiving 105 kJ/day food but subset 18 animals RSV (200 mg.kg-1 body weight.day-1). supplementation improved performance at middle age compared control (CTL) animals. Median-lifespan greater RSV-fed (7.9 years 6.4 for CTL) long-term did significantly affect all-cause nor mortality. Also, matter accelerated group old CTL group. Altogether, these results suggest that procures health benefits middle-age has limited might even impair integrity older ages. Long-term resveratrol primate does mimic positive lifespan

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading cause of mortality worldwide, with complex pathophysiological mechanisms such as oxidative stress, inflammation, apoptosis, and endothelial dysfunction driving progression. MicroRNAs (miRNAs), a class non-coding RNAs, have emerged key regulators gene expression involved in these processes, positioning them potential biomarkers therapeutic targets CVD management. Simultaneously, flavonoids, naturally occurring polyphenolic compounds found various plant-based foods, gained attention for their cardioprotective properties, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic effects. Recent studies suggest novel intersection between flavonoids miRNAs, where may modulate specific miRNAs implicated pathogenesis. This review explores miRNA modulators, focusing on ability to regulate associated cardiac fibrosis, hypertrophy, vascular inflammation. By bridging targeting, this highlights innovative pathways advancing treatment strategies. Additionally, preclinical clinical evidence supporting interactions is discussed, alongside challenges opportunities developing flavonoid-based therapies. Unlocking synergy could pave way more effective, personalized approaches management, addressing unmet needs contemporary cardiovascular care.
