Recently developed radiolabeled FAPI (fibroblast-activation protein inhibitors) have attracted researcher's attention in diagnosing various tumors because of its high specificity and better tumor-to-background ratio. Increasing use 68 Ga-FAPI PET/CT has resulted reporting incidental benign findings as well. We hereby present a case suspected carcinoma stomach showing increased uptake primary tumor well subchondral cysts bilateral shoulder joints right hip joint on PET CT scan.

Immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs) are characterized by chronic systemic inflammation and multi-organ involvement. Fibrosis formation in IMIDs can cause tissue destruction subsequently organ malfunction. Fibroblast activation protein inhibitor positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FAPi PET/CT) represents a novel imaging technique that holds great potential to visualize vivo fibrosis. We here provide an overview of available evidence on FAPi PET/CT fibrosis various IMIDs, including interstitial lung diseases, immunoglobulin G4-related cardiovascular kidney gastrointestinal diseases. demonstrates high sensitivity detecting early fibrosis, correlating with disease severity, across different showing superiority compared conventional modalities. Although might be useful tool assess formation, thereby aiding grading severity staging, future studies should include larger sample sizes broad variety emphasis the optimization protocols further validate its diagnostic value.

The role of fibroblast activation protein inhibitor (FAPI) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) is emerging for the assessment non-oncological diseases, such as inflammatory and infectious even if evidence in literature still its initial phases. Abstract After an initial response to chemotherapy, tumor relapse is frequent. This event reflective of both the spatiotemporal heterogeneities microenvironment as well evolutionary propensity cancer cell populations adapt variable conditions. The diagnosis of a periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is always difficult point in research on the surgery joints. current diagnostic criteria include comprehensive analysis multiple tests; however, there are no effective visual examinations yet that can differentiate between aseptic loosening and PJI.This case report describes four patients with symptomatic total hip arthroplasty (THA), two cases infection. Although were correctly diagnosed by tissue culture, preoperative tests pathological examination could not effectively distinguish an from non-infection. Based preclinical study theoretical feasibility, gallium-68 (68Ga)-labeled fibroblast activation protein inhibitor positron emission tomography/computed tomography (68Ga-FAPI PET/CT) was performed. Positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) using 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose ([18F]-FDG) is a widely adopted imaging modality for detecting hypermetabolic lesions. However, emerging positron-emitting tracers, such as radiopharmaceuticals featuring fibroblast activation protein (FAP) inhibitors (FAPI) labeled with [18F] or [68Ga], have opened new avenues in nuclear medicine. This case report focuses on the unique behavior of [68Ga]-FAPI bilateral gluteal myositis ossificans, an infrequent condition characterized by soft tissue ossification. A 45-year-old woman gastric adenocarcinoma underwent subtotal gastrectomy and received neoadjuvant adjuvant chemotherapy; PET revealed metastatic processes unexpected avid intramuscular ossifications pelvic thigh muscles. Even though there was no history trauma, patient diagnosed marked non-cancerous ectopic ossifications. Diagnosis relies history, radiology, and/or histology. FAPI imaging, increasingly used inflammatory infectious diseases, can exhibit uptake benign conditions, including those involving bones joints. first to document incidental ossificans. The robust activity ossificans highlights importance considering context calcifications intense uptake.
