Abstract Objective Recent work examined the influence of topically applied just‐add‐water creams containing Lactobacillus plantarum probiotic cultures on to reconstructed human epidermis (RHE). The ability blend various quiescent powders in topical systems allows for examination these RHEs employing individual probiotics using gene microarrays. Methods Four Just‐Add‐Water (STRATABIOSYS™ Technologies) were prepared following: (1) Lp90 [200 M CFU/g]; (2) Saccharomyces cerevisiae (3) Streptococcus thermophilus and (4) Lactococcus Lactis LLa61 CFU/g]. A powder without was used as a placebo control. by taking 3% each dissolving it into sterile water. 15 μL sample cream RHE tissue that presented approximately 90 K CFU/g microorganism tissue. treated 24 h with whereupon residual rinsed off, tissues analysed Agilent microarrays 19 217 genes from which smaller subset 244 pertinent skin culled. Results following specific responses found: upregulated 4.9% skin‐relevant set; 7.8% relevant 6.1% lactis 7.0% set. Conclusion method examine has been described involves converting preservative‐free creams.

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by squamous and erythematous plaques on the skin involvement of immune system. Global prevalence for psoriasis has been reported around 1–3% with higher incidence in adults similar proportions between men women. The risk factors associated are both extrinsic intrinsic, out which polygenic predisposition highlight latter. etiology not yet fully described, but several hypothesis have proposed: 1) autoimmunity based over-expression antimicrobial peptides such as LL-37, proteins ADAMTSL5, K17, hsp27, or lipids synthesized PLA2G4D enzyme, all may serve autoantigens to promote differentiation autoreactive lymphocytes T unleash response; 2) dysbiosis microbiota gained relevance due observations loss diversity participation pathogenic bacteria Streptococcus spp. Staphylococcus fungi Malassezia Candida virus HPV, HCV, HIV psoriatic plaques; 3) oxidative stress hypothesis, most recent one, describes that cell injury release proinflammatory mediators leads activate Th1/Th17 axis observed caused reactive oxygen species imbalance oxidant antioxidant mechanisms. This review aims describe mechanisms involved three hypotheses etiopathogeneses psoriasis.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic relapsing inflammatory disease that impacts the quality of life affected individuals as well their families. Its pathogenesis involves impaired skin barrier function and immune dysregulation. Moisturizers are used in AD management they help repairing barrier. The objective this study was to compare efficacy, safety, prevention relapse with ceramide-based post-biotic moisturizer against paraffin-based mild moderate AD. A total 160 patients were grouped into two: Group I received desonide cream 0.05% II moisturizer. Both groups given treatment for four weeks. Patients who achieved complete resolution entered maintenance phase maximum duration three months. They followed up every two weeks telephonically or when patient experienced relapse. All completely cured at week 4. 96/160 (71.25%) relapsed, 44 relapses (55%) 52 (65%) (p=0.25). However, terms mean time, had 72.52±15.01 day remission period, whereas 47.44±21.49 period (p=0.0001). Moreover, showed statistically significantly prolonged estimated median time compared (median: 85 days versus 71 days, p=0.05). moisturizers tolerated very well. Although both effective resolving symptoms phase, more significant extending

ABSTRACT Background The skin microbiota, a complex community of microorganisms residing on the skin, plays crucial role in maintaining health and overall homeostasis. Recent research has suggested that alterations composition function microbiota may influence aging process. However, causal relationships between specific biological remain unclear. Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis provides powerful tool to explore these links by utilizing genetic variants as instrumental variables, thereby minimizing confounding factors reverse causality often complicate observational studies. Methods We utilized two‐sample MR approach with population‐based cross‐sectional data from two German cohorts, KORA FF4 ( n = 324) PopGen 273). In total, GWAS summary 1656 samples datasets accelerated age were analyzed investigate relationship aging. primary was performed using inverse variance weighted (IVW) method random effects further supported MR‐Egger regression, Cochran's Q test, range sensitivity analyses. Highlights•Ceramide-infused skin barriers (CIBs) reduce peristomal complications by 77% versus standard care.•Using CIBs cuts patient costs an average of $140,000 per patient.•Patients gain higher quality-adjusted life days, enhancing well-being and outcomes.•Gross domestic product healthcare spending are related to cost-effectiveness variability.AbstractPurposeCeramide-infused applied stoma care hold potential benefits, which thus far not summarized. This study aims summarize the literature on in patients with intestinal urinary stomas quantitatively compare clinical, economic, outcomes against (SOC) these patients.MethodsSystematic review random-effect meta-analysis following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement, including meta-regression analyses explore sources heterogeneity. PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus, Web Science, Embase, Google Scholar, clinicaltrials.gov were searched studies published up November 2024. Studies involving any age or treated SOC. Outcomes included (PSCs), cost-effectiveness, days (QALDs).FindingsCIBs increased odds preventing PSCs compared SOC (OR = 1.77, 95% CI: 1.40, 2.23). Cost savings averaged -140,000 USD (95% -142,000 USD, -139,000 USD), although varied significantly (I² 100%, P < 0.001). Meta-regression identified gross (GDP) capita (β -7.31, 0.010) expenditure -169.33, 0.001) as key contributors cost variability. also improved QALDs (MD 0.35, 0.33, 0.37), quality life.ImplicationsCIBs PSCs, generate savings, improve QALDs, demonstrating widespread clinical adoption. However, economic benefits vary across systems, warranting further research into their long-term impact country-specific cost-effectiveness.
