The skin microbiome, a diverse and dynamic ecosystem of microorganisms, plays pivotal role in maintaining health by interacting with cells, immune components, structural barriers. It is essential for homeostasis, defense, protection against pathogenic colonization. Dysbiosis the microbiome has been implicated numerous dermatological conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea. Acne, most prevalent condition, affects up to 85% individuals at some point their lives, while eczema psoriasis impose significant public economic burdens. composition varies across types anatomical sites, sebaceous, moist, dry areas fostering distinct microbial communities. Emerging therapeutic strategies such as microbiome-targeted treatments offer novel avenues addressing diseases. Among these approaches, postbiotics have gained attention safety efficacy. Unlike probiotics, are non-viable cells or metabolites, which reduce concerns providing functional benefits UV wound healing. This review consolidates current insights into disease, emphasizing promising strategy exploring clinical commercial potential microbiome-based treatments, particularly postbiotics, ability redefine care improve patient outcomes.

ABSTRACT Background The skin microbiota, a complex community of microorganisms residing on the skin, plays crucial role in maintaining health and overall homeostasis. Recent research has suggested that alterations composition function microbiota may influence aging process. However, causal relationships between specific biological remain unclear. Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis provides powerful tool to explore these links by utilizing genetic variants as instrumental variables, thereby minimizing confounding factors reverse causality often complicate observational studies. Methods We utilized two‐sample MR approach with population‐based cross‐sectional data from two German cohorts, KORA FF4 ( n = 324) PopGen 273). In total, GWAS summary 1656 samples datasets accelerated age were analyzed investigate relationship aging. primary was performed using inverse variance weighted (IVW) method random effects further supported MR‐Egger regression, Cochran's Q test, range sensitivity analyses. Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cognitive decline and neuronal loss, affecting millions worldwide. Emerging evidence highlights the oral microbiome—a complex ecosystem of bacteria, fungi, viruses, protozoa as significant factor in health. Dysbiosis microbiome contributes to systemic inflammation, disrupts blood–brain barrier, promotes neuroinflammation, processes increasingly implicated pathogenesis AD. This review examines mechanisms linking dysbiosis through oral–brain oral–gut–brain axis. These interconnected pathways enable bidirectional communication between cavity, gut, brain via neural, immune, endocrine signaling. Oral pathogens, such Porphyromonas gingivalis, along with virulence factors, including lipopolysaccharides (LPS) gingipains, contribute while metabolic byproducts, short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) peptidoglycans, further exacerbate immune activation. Additionally, this explores influence external diet, pH balance, medication use, smoking, alcohol consumption, hygiene, on microbial diversity stability, highlighting their role shaping outcomes. The dynamic interplay gut microbiomes reinforces importance homeostasis preserving neurological interventions, probiotics, prebiotics, dietary modifications, offer promising strategies support function reduce risk diseases, AD, maintaining diverse microbiome. Future longitudinal research needed identify long-term impact cognition.

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by squamous and erythematous plaques on the skin involvement of immune system. Global prevalence for psoriasis has been reported around 1–3% with higher incidence in adults similar proportions between men women. The risk factors associated are both extrinsic intrinsic, out which polygenic predisposition highlight latter. etiology not yet fully described, but several hypothesis have proposed: 1) autoimmunity based over-expression antimicrobial peptides such as LL-37, proteins ADAMTSL5, K17, hsp27, or lipids synthesized PLA2G4D enzyme, all may serve autoantigens to promote differentiation autoreactive lymphocytes T unleash response; 2) dysbiosis microbiota gained relevance due observations loss diversity participation pathogenic bacteria Streptococcus spp. Staphylococcus fungi Malassezia Candida virus HPV, HCV, HIV psoriatic plaques; 3) oxidative stress hypothesis, most recent one, describes that cell injury release proinflammatory mediators leads activate Th1/Th17 axis observed caused reactive oxygen species imbalance oxidant antioxidant mechanisms. This review aims describe mechanisms involved three hypotheses etiopathogeneses psoriasis.
