Characterization of surface topography, roughly divided into measurement and data analysis, can be valuable in the process validation tribological performance machined parts. Surface especially roughness, respond straightly to machining and, some cases, is defined as a fingerprint manufacturing. When considering high precision topography studies, definition both S-surface L-surface drive many errors that influence analysis accuracy manufacturing process. Even if precise measuring equipment (device method) provided but received are processed erroneously, still lost. From matter, S-L roughness evaluation allowing reduction rejection properly made In this paper, it was proposed how select an appropriate procedure for removal L- S- components from raw measured data. Various types topographies were considered, e.g., plateau-honed (some with burnished oil pockets), turned, milled, ground, laser-textured, ceramic, composite, generally, isotropic. They different (stylus optical) methods, respectively, parameters ISO 25178 standard also taken consideration. It found commonly used available commercial software methods helpful surface; its usage requires response (knowledge) users.

In this paper, the application of an Autocorrelation Function for characterisation surface topography was validated. The roughness evaluation turned composite surfaces supported by sophisticated studies properties, considering especially shape function. Details were measured with optical method. selection procedures carried out based on both profile and areal analyses. Moreover, various types regular analysis methods, proposed in commercial software, like Gaussian regression robust functions, median de-noising, isotropic Spline, fast Fourier transform filters, parameters from ISO 25178 standards. It found that many common techniques, commonly used spectral analysis, texture direction, studies. hard thresholding technique to be valuable comprehensive noise-suppression analysis.

The study of biomimetics allows for the creation various structures inspired by nature. This work investigates impact using a bio-inspired tool path manufacturing porous plates via 3D printing. Bouligand (or plywood-like) structure is prevalent in several biological components. Structures that mimicked design concerning were printed and compared to uniform produced with rectilinear pattern through mechanical testing. Quasi-static dynamic tests conducted on specimens infill densities ranging from 25% 100%. Results indicated displayed superior specific energy absorption at 75% density. also provided excellent elongation during quasi-static failure—the fracture adhered structure. In contrast, brittle failure was demonstrated specimen varying percentages, while enhanced toughness polymer specimens.

Aluminium alloy sheets cause many problems in sheet metal forming processes owing to their tendency gall the surface of tool. The paper presents a method for determination kinematic friction coefficient pairs. (COF) requires specialised devices that 'simulate' conditions specific areas formed sheet. In this article, behaviour aluminium was determined using strip drawing test. 1-mm-thick 6082 T6 temper were used as test material. Different values nominal pressures (4.38, 6.53, 8.13, 9.47, 10.63, and 11.69 MPa) different sliding speeds (10 20 mm/min.) considered. change also realised with several typical oils (hydraulic oil LHL 32, machine LAN 46 engine SAE 5W-40 C3) commonly operations. Thresholding Methods for Reduction in Data Processing Errors in the Laser-Textured Surface Topography Measurements DOI Open Access

There are many factors influencing the accuracy of surface topography measurement results: one them is vibrations caused by high-frequency noise occurrence. It extremely difficult to extract results defined as from real measured data, especially application various methods requiring skilled users and, additionally, improper use software may cause errors in data processing. Accordingly, thresholding for minimization raw processing were proposed and compared with commonly used (available commercial software) techniques. Applied procedures parameters (from ISO 25178 standard) calculation after removal reduction, respectively, (S-filter). Methods applied analysis laser-textured surfaces a comparison regular methods, previously measuring equipment. was found that algorithms can be suitable when selected provided. Moreover, both process reduced support procedures. From applied, (regular Gaussian regression filter, robust spline filter fast Fourier transform filter), most encouraging obtained reduction details supported approach.

AF1410 is a low carbon high alloy ultra-high strength steel. It not only has and toughness, but also stress corrosion resistance. 20Cr2Ni4A alloy is widely used in the manufacturing of heavy-duty gears, although limited information about its machinability during form-grinding process has been reported. In this work, trials on transmission gears under various parameters were conducted. Surface morphology gear tooth, surface roughness distribution and microstructure evolution machined layer comprehensively studied, influence grinding performance was investigated. The formation mechanisms surface/subsurface defects process, including plastic flow, deep grooves, successive crushing zone, adhesive chips cavities, analyzed. Results showed that change contact conditions between wheel tooth led to decrease from tip root. Mechanical force heat promoted deformation refinement within layer. With increase cutting depth feed speed, ratio increased, which also consistent with variation trend temperature.
