Including grape pomace in goat diets presents a potentially valuable strategy for enhancing the sustainability of farming and mitigating environmental risks. This work aimed to investigate impact dietary dried (DGP) on milk yield, composition fatty acid (FA) profile goats. Gas chromatography was utilised obtain an extensive FA fat. Dry matter intake, as well yield were not altered by DGP. Despite predominance linoleic (LA, 18:2 cis-9,cis-12) lipids DGP presence phenolic compounds, its inclusion diet did negatively affect quantitatively main groups FA. Furthermore, there no significant butyric, caproic, caprylic, capric acids, major 18:1 trans isomers, including vaccenic (18:1 trans-11), LA, α-linolenic (18:3 n-3), long chain polyunsaturated n-6 n-3 However, rumenic fat significantly reduced from 0.36 0.30 g/100 g total methyl esters. study supports that up 6%, can be safely included conventional dairy without compromising production results or altering great extent profile.

Vitis vinifera L., commonly known as grapes, is one of the most widely cultivated crops worldwide, with over 80% used for wine production. However, winemaking process generates substantial residues, including grape pomace (GP), lees, and wastewater, which can pose significant environmental economic challenges. Among these, GP stands out not only a waste product but also rich source polyphenols—bioactive compounds recognized antioxidant anti-inflammatory properties. Recent advancements have expanded application GP-derived extracts, particularly in health food industries, due to their potent bioactive This review provides comprehensive overview valorization GP, focusing on its phenolic composition therapeutic potential. It evokes innovative, environmentally friendly extraction techniques integrated methods chemical analysis these valuable compounds. Additionally, benefits polyphenols are explored, recent experimental findings examining metabolism highlighting key role gut microbiota processes. These insights contribute deeper understanding biological activity extracts underscore growing significance high-added-value product. By illustrating how by-products be transformed into natural agents, this emphasizes importance sustainable development eco-friendly management practices, significantly contributing advancement circular economy.

Grape pomace (GP) has gained attention for its potential to be valorized into functional foods due rich composition of bioactive compounds. In this work, GP been exploited develop plant-based mayonnaise alternatives and salad dressings. The influence the water-to-oil ratio, percentage content GP, lecithin, vinegar on viscosity physical stability obtained emulsions have investigated by Design Experiments. Two formulations, one high-oil (70%) second high-water (60%), were further studied their applications. selected samples subjected an accelerated test (60 °C 21 days) verify oxidation protection. sample, combined with 8% showed lower primary (peroxide value < 20 mEq O2/kg fat) secondary (anisidine 55) parameters than highlighting antioxidant activity. phenolic profile all HPLC was also determined. Lastly, a sensory analysis conducted, showing highest overall acceptability oil-rich sample. results contribute potentiality in formulation healthy foods, adopting zero-waste approach full exploitation underutilized resource.

Hydroalcoholic extracts from Malbec and Torrontés wine pomace (Vitis vinifera L.) originating the high-altitude vineyards of Argentina's Calchaquí Valleys were characterized. Total phenolics, hydroxycinnamic acids, orthodiphenols, anthocyanins, non-flavonoid total flavonoids, flavones/flavonols, flavanones/dihydroflavonols, tannins quanti-fied through spectrophotometric methods, with extract exhibiting higher concentra-tions in most phytochemical groups when compared to Torrontés. HPLC-DAD identified more than 30 phenolic compounds both extracts. displayed superior antiradical ac-tivity (ABTS cation, nitric oxide, superoxide anion radicals), reduction power (iron, copper phosphomolybdenum), hypochlorite scavenging, iron chelating ability, compara-tively The cytotoxicity assessments revealed that affected viability HT29-MTX Caco-2 colon cancer cells by 70% 50%, respectively, at highest tested concentration (1 mg/mL). Grape pomaces have a wide and diverse antioxidant phenolics composition. Six Uruguayan red grape were evaluated in their composition, capacity, anti-inflammatory properties. Not only radical scavenging methods as DPPH· ABTS·+ employed but also ORAC FRAP analyses applied to assess the potency of extracts. The reactivity all extracts against hydroxyl radicals was assessed with ESR. phenol profile most bioactive extract analyzed by HPLC-MS, set 57 structures determined. To investigate potential activity extracts, Nuclear Factor kappa-B (NF-κB) modulation human colon cancer reporter cell line (HT-29-NF-κB-hrGFP). Our results suggest that Tannat grapes higher phenolic content capacity compared Cabernet Franc. These inhibited TNF-alpha mediated NF-κB activation IL-8 production when added cells. A molecular docking study carried out rationalize experimental allowing us propose proactive interaction between NF-κB, phenols, putative bioactivity. present findings show pomace constitutes sustainable source compounds, which may be valuable for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food industry applications.

Abstract Grape pomace (GP), a by-residue from the wine industry, contains bioactive molecules such as phenolic compounds, and anthocyanins, among others, with potential health benefits. In current study, these were extracted GP of different Vitis vinifera L. varieties (Tinta Negra, Complexa, Malvasia Roxa, Malvasia, Sercial, Verdelho, Boal, Terrantez) using micro quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, safe (µQuEChERS) procedure. The extracts investigated ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC-PDA) to establish fingerprint, by in vitro assays assess antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant activities. Nine compounds identified quantified extracts, gallic acid (ranging 10.4 12.9 g/100 g), catechin (2.97 5.08 quercetin (2.17 2.85 trans -resveratrol (0.28 1.82 g) being most prominent. Complexa variety exhibited highest levels total anthocyanin content (TAC, 6.67 mgCGE/100 (TPC, 4727 mgGAE/100 activity (DPPH, 9472 mgTE/100 while Tinta Negra had (TCC, 947 mgCATE/100 g). A strong correlation ( p < 0.001) was observed between TPC-TAC, TPC-DPPH, DPPH-TAC, TAC-TCC. Moreover, o-coumaric are significantly correlated TPC, TAC, TCC, DPPH assays. at concentration 100 µg/mL, showed promising inhibition albumin protein denaturation compared aspirin (reference standard). findings that more useful inhibiting Staphylococcus aureus Escherichia coli .
