Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing industry normally arise as a result of product innovations. Transiting growing into large organizations is critical process for sustainable growth SMEs, this requires developing appropriate production systems. Such development focuses on economics optimization facility layout, capacity, machine utilization. These optimizations are usually achieved using discrete event simulation (DES). However, DES primarily not formulated to give concurrent attention occupational health safety risks, where workers’ also important systems; hence, sustainability issues arise. Until now, treated separately, aspects often managed after system has been developed. This brings increasing hazards environment since adding new facilities may introduce cause further issues. The present paper proposes methodology solve above concerns. Its key features use quality-of-life metric determining risks particular work activity embedding thereof routine plant simulation. One contributions proposed integration method that it helps enhance systems support financial due diligence, well (OHS) diligence. particularly SMEs industries, comes with challenges related need develop more systematic operational management
