Introduction This mixed-methods study evaluates the impact of AI-assisted language learning on Chinese English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students’ writing skills and motivation. As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more prevalent in educational settings, understanding its effects outcomes is crucial. Methods The employs comprehensive approach, combining quantitative qualitative methods. phase utilizes pre-test post-test design to assess skills. Fifty EFL students, matched for proficiency, are randomly assigned experimental (AI-assisted instruction via ChatGPT) or control (traditional instruction) groups. Writing samples evaluated using established scoring rubrics. Concurrently, semi-structured interviews conducted with subset participants explore motivation experiences learning. Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the ground-breaking innovations 21st century that has accelerated digitalization societies. ChatGPT a newer form AI-based large language model can generate complex texts are almost indistinguishable from human-generated text. It already garnered substantial interest people due to its potential utility in variety contexts. The current study was conducted evaluate generating accurate, clear, concise, and unbiased information could support scientific research process. To achieve this purpose, we initiated queries on both versions regarding digital school leadership teachers’ technology integration, two significant topics currently discussed educational literature, under four categories: (1) definition leadership, (2) skills principals, (3) factors affecting (4) impact integration. Next, performed comparative analysis responses generated by ChatGPT-3.5 ChatGPT-4. results showed were capable providing satisfactory compatible with relevant literature. This study investigated the effectiveness of artificial intelligence-based instruction in improving second language (L2) speaking skills and self-regulation a natural setting. The research was conducted with 93 Chinese English as foreign (EFL) students, randomly assigned to either an experimental group receiving AI-based or control traditional instruction.The leveraged Duolingo application, incorporating processing technology, interactive exercises, personalized feedback, speech recognition technology. Pre- post-tests were assess L2 abilities.The results demonstrated that group, which received instruction, exhibited significantly greater improvement compared group.
