This study investigates the factors driving micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) empowerment, tourism development, sustainable villages, focusing on Ponggok Tourism Village as a case study. The purpose is to address gaps in understanding how leadership, innovation, governance, collaboration, capacity building, technology contribute empowering MSMEs achieving sustainability rural contexts. Using mixed-methods approach, combines quantitative analysis of survey data thematic interviews with MSME actors, facilitators, local government officials. Key findings reveal that leadership innovation are critical drivers service quality significantly impacting development. However, governance transparency shows limited direct influence tourism, emphasizing need for better alignment strategies. Additionally, empowerment strongly influences both development creating mutually reinforcing relationship. provides novel framework integrating technological advancements, improvements By highlighting Ponggok’s village potential model, offer practical insights policymakers practitioners seeking enhance through empowerment. Future research could explore scaling this other contexts refining tools tourism.

Research background: European Union (EU) economies need to enhance sustainable supply chains (SSCs) through digitalisation realise development goals (SDGs). However, the impact of on SDGs is complex and multifaceted, role SSCs in mediating this relationship not fully understood. While extant research has delved into influence SSCs, predominantly within specific industries or geographic regions, a gap persists concerning large-N samples generalisability results. Purpose article: This study evaluates achieving along with mediation based resource-based view, triple-bottom-line, dynamic capabilities theories. Methods: The extracted panel data from Eurostat 2013 2022 evaluated these partial least squares structural equation modelling estimate association among constructs. sample covers EU–27 countries consists 270 observations. Digitalisation operationalised as use digital technologies to, for instance, innovate business models, provide new revenue streams value-producing opportunities, enhance, streamline, make chain processes more efficient environmentally sustainable. SSC practices encompass design, planning, execution, monitoring activities create value, optimise resources, minimise environmental impact. Findings & value-added: findings indicate that positive practices. also noted initiatives play between EU economies. These interesting insights could direct policymakers enforce initiative boost Although literature gained significant attention, first domains.
