The use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in academia is a subjective and hotly debated topic. Currently, there are no agreed guidelines towards the usage GenAI systems higher education (HE) and, thus, it still unclear how to make effective technology for teaching learning practice. This paper provides an overview current state research on HE. To this end, study conducted systematic review relevant studies indexed by Scopus, using preferred reporting items reviews meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. search criteria revealed total 625 papers, which 355 met final inclusion criteria. findings from showed future trends documents, citations, document sources/authors, keywords, co-authorship. gaps identified suggest that while some authors have looked at understanding detection AI-generated text, may be beneficial understand can incorporated into supporting educational curriculum assessments, teaching, delivery. Furthermore, need additional interdisciplinary, multidimensional HE through collaboration. will strengthen awareness students, tutors, other stakeholders, instrumental formulating guidelines, frameworks, policies usage.

This study evaluates “I Learn with Prompt Engineering”, a self-paced, self-regulated elective course designed to equip university students skills in prompt engineering effectively utilize large language models (LLMs), foster self-directed learning, and enhance academic English proficiency through generative AI applications. By integrating concepts tools, the supports autonomous learning addresses critical skill gaps market-ready capabilities. The also examines EnSmart, an AI-driven tool powered by GPT-4 integrated into Canvas LMS, which automates test content generation grading delivers real-time, human-like feedback. Performance evaluation, structured questionnaires, surveys were used evaluate course’s impact on prompting skills, proficiency, overall experiences. Results demonstrated significant improvements accessible patterns like “Persona” proving highly effective, while advanced such as “Flipped Interaction” posed challenges. Gains most notable among lower initial though engagement practice time varied. Students valued EnSmart’s intuitive integration accuracy but identified limitations question diversity adaptability. high final success rate that proper design (taking consideration Panadero’s four dimensions of learning) can facilitate successful learning. findings highlight AI’s potential task automation, emphasizing necessity human oversight for ethical effective implementation education.

ABSTRACT Artificial intelligence (AI) has extensively developed, impacting different sectors of society, including higher education, and attracted the attention various educational stakeholders, leading to a growing number research on its integration into education. Hence, this systematic literature review examines impact integrating AI tools in education students' personal collaborative learning environments. Analysis 148 articles published between 2021 2024 indicates that Tools improve personalised assessments, communication engagement, scaffolding performance motivation. Additionally, they promote environment by providing peer‐learning opportunities, enhanced learner‐content interaction cooperative support. Indeed, strategies such as skills development, ethical use, academic integrity instructional content design. Acknowledged limitations include considerations, particularly privacy bias, which require ongoing attention. it is recommended create good balance AI‐mediated human environments, key area future exploration.

This study implements a conflict management training approach guided by principles of transformative learning and practice simulated via an LLM. Transformative is more effective when learners are engaged mentally behaviorally in experiences. Correspondingly, the involved three-step procedure consisting phase, phase enabled LLM, reflection phase. Fifty-six students enrolled systems development course were exposed to so they would be better prepared address any potential conflicts within their teams as approached semester-long software project. The investigated following: (1) How did affect students’ level confidence addressing conflict? (2) Which styles use practice? (3) strategies employ engaging with findings indicate that: 65% significantly increased managing demonstrating collaborative, compromising, accommodative approaches; 26% slightly implementing collaborative 9% not increase confidence, already confident applying approaches. three most frequently used for identifying root cause problem, actively listening, being specific objective explaining concerns.

With the increasing use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools like ChatGPT and Bard, universities face challenges in maintaining academic integrity. This research investigates impact these on learning outcomes (factual knowledge, comprehension, critical thinking) selected Ghana's Upper East Region during 2023-2024 year. The study specifically analyzes changes student comprehension integrity concerns when using AI for content generation, assistance, summarizing complex topics. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative data from interviews open-ended questions with quantitative analysis survey records. focuses three institutions: C. K. Tedam University Technology Applied Sciences, Bolgatanga Technical University, Regentropfen College. purposive sampling technique recruited 150 participants (50 each university) who had used tools. Key findings show that 72% students reported improved understanding course material through use, yet 75% cited as a primary concern. Quantitative revealed weak to moderate positive correlation (r = 0.45) between tool usage grades, variations depending specific tasks performed. Qualitative highlighted about overreliance its thinking skills. contributes ongoing debate AI's role education by providing valuable insights educators policymakers worldwide. suggest while can enhance ethical considerations potential drawbacks related require careful attention. concludes recommendations integrating literacy programs, developing guidelines, implementing advanced plagiarism detection systems harness benefits mitigating risks Although Ghana, may be applicable other educational similar characteristics.
