Abstract Parkinson’s disease (PD), the second most common neurodegenerative disorder, develops sporadically, likely through a combination of polygenic and environmental factors. Previous studies associate pesticide exposure genes involved in lysosomal function with PD risk. We evaluated frequency variants among patients from Parkinson’s, Environment, Genes (PEG) study ambient agricultural sources. 757 patients, primarily White European/non-Hispanic ancestry (75%), were screened for 85 using custom amplicon panel. Variant enrichment was calculated against Genome Aggregation Database (gnomAD). Enriched exonic prioritized by to cluster pesticides used on cotton severity progression subset 386 subdivided race/ethnicity. Gene analysis identified 36 26 PEG patients. Twelve (12/26, 46%) had multiple enriched and/or single variant present individuals, representing 61% (22/36) observed variation cohort. Diabetes mellitus, a metabolic condition affecting around 537 million individuals worldwide, poses significant challenges, particularly among the elderly population. The etiopathogenesis of type 2 diabetes (T2D) depends on combination effects driven by advancing age, genetic background, and lifestyle habits, e.g. overnutrition. These factors influence development T2D differently in men women, with an obvious sexual dimorphism possibly underlying diverse clinical features disease different sexes. More recently, environmental pollution, estimated to cause 9 deaths every year, is emerging as novel risk factor for T2D.
