Abstract Background: Systemic Immune Inflammatory Index (SII) is a novel indicator of inflammation. However, no studies have reported the effect SII on association between metals and total fat (TOFAT). We aim to investigate mediated relationship urinary TOFAT in US adult population. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted among adults with complete information SII, urine metal concentrations, from 2011-2018 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Multifactorial logistic regression restricted cubic splines were used explore levels TOFAT. Furthermore, serial mediation analyses mediating Results: A 3324 subjects included this study. After adjusting for covariates, arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), cobalt (Co), cesium (Cs), inorganic mercury (Hg), molybdenum (Mo), manganese (Mn), lead (Pb), antimony (Sb) had negative significant decreased trends odds ratios (all P trend < 0.05). In population, we found that Cd, Co, Tu positive [ β = 34.67 (95%CI: 1.65, 67.70); 54.49 12.20, 96.78); 29.46 1.67, 57.24)], whereas As Hg SII. The results analysis showed effects associations Co TOFAT, beta coefficient 0.8% 0.2, 0.5%; 0.020). not statistically As, > Conclusions: Our findings suggested exposure would directly decrease level increase completely by which mainly exerted females rather than males.

Studies on the association between mixed exposure to common pollutants such as cadmium (Cd), cobalt (Co), lead (Pb), and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) with Systemic Immune Inflammatory Index (SII), a novel hemocyte-based inflammatory marker, have not been reported. This study explored relationship co-exposure Cd, Co, Pb, PAHs, SII.

Lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), and cadmium (Cd) are prevalent persistent environmental contaminants, causing detrimental effects on millions of individuals worldwide. Our previous research demonstrated that early-life exposure to low-level Pb, Hg, Cd mixtures may lead cognitive impairments. However, the association interaction among low levels or remains unclear. In this study, a two-level full factorial design (5.481, 0.036, 2.132 mg/L for respectively) was conducted assess interplay maternal offspring cognition. Following during pregnancy lactation, competitive absorption observed. Maternal each metal alone resulted in higher blood brain concentrations compared co-exposure at equivalent levels. behavioral experiments Morris water maze novel object recognition test revealed synergistically impaired offspring's spatial cognition memory. Importantly, dysfunction persisted into middle age even without after adulthood. Moreover, open field elevated plus indicated triggered risk-taking behavior weaning offspring, with significant main effect Pb exposure. No long-lasting detected middle-aged offspring. Further investigation molecular mechanisms showed dysregulation corticosterone reaction immune response might be potential mechanism underlying co-exposure-induced study highlights synergistic multiple heavy exposures, underscoring urgency prevent children women childbearing age.

Cadmium (Cd) is a toxic metal primarily found as by-product of zinc production. Cd was proven carcinogen, and exposure to this has been linked various adverse health effects, which were first reported in the mid-19th century thoroughly investigated by 20th century. The toxicokinetics dynamics reveal its propensity for long biological retention predominant storage soft tissues. Until 1950s, pollution caused industrial activities, whereas nowadays, main source phosphate fertilizers, strongly contaminate soil water affect human ecosystems. enters body mainly through ingestion inhalation, with food tobacco smoke being primary sources. It accumulates organs, particularly kidney liver, known cause severe problems, including renal dysfunction, bone diseases, cardiovascular many others. On cellular level, disrupts numerous processes, inducing oxidative stress generation DNA damage. This comprehensive review explores pollution, accumulation, distribution, impacts on bacteria, fungi, edible mushrooms, plants, animals, humans molecular level. Molecular aspects carcinogenesis, apoptosis, autophagy, specific gene expression, protein synthesis, ROS formation discussed well. paper also summarizes how removed from contaminated environments body.

α-Klotho is an anti-aging protein linked to various age-related diseases. Environmental metal exposure has been associated with oxidative stress and aging, but its effect on levels remains unclear. This study investigated the relationship between urinary concentrations serum using data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2007–2016 cycles. A total of 4071 adults aged 40 79 years were included in analysis. After adjusting for potential confounders, positive associations found barium (Ba), cesium (Cs), molybdenum (Mo), while tungsten (W) uranium (U) negatively correlated levels. The combined effects multiple metals further analyzed qgcomp model, which demonstrated a negative correlation increased mixtures Specifically, U, arsenic (t-As), W, cadmium (Cd), antimony (Sb), lead (Pb) contributed reduction levels, Ba, Cs, dimethylarsinic acid (DMA), Mo, thallium (Tl), cobalt (Co) positively These findings suggest that certain metals, particularly combination, may reduce potentially accelerating aging processes. Further studies should investigate underlying mechanisms responsible these associations.
