The recent COVID-19 pandemic and its handling have obviously received enormous attention bringing out the best worst of human thinking action.Although vaccines against various viral infections proven successful in saving millions lives globally, adverse events after mass vaccinations raised concerns triggered discussions over vaccine safety.Recently, Dr. Missoni Sen called for better transparency from manufacturers health authorities as a solution to tackle hesitancy.Although is much welcome, it difficult envision neither cause nor main reduce hesitancy.Certainly, misguided unscientific anti-vaccine anti-system campaigns spreading misinformation disinformation play more significant role. Therefore, sharing open, honest, detailed information about development manufacturing, continuous sound data-based reporting present ways hesitancy related emerging future infections.

Acute lung injury (ALI) is an acute, progressive hypoxic respiratory failure that could develop into acute distress syndrome (ARDS) with very high mortality rate. ALI believed to be caused by uncontrolled inflammation, and multiple types of immune cells, especially neutrophils, are critically involved in the development ALI. The treatment for ALI/ARDS limited, a better understanding pathogenesis new therapies urgently needed. Here we discover GPR84, medium chain fatty acid receptor, plays critical roles regulating neutrophil functions. GPR84 highly upregulated cells isolated from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid LPS-induced mice. deficiency or blockage significantly ameliorated mice inflammation reducing neutrophils infiltration oxidative stress. Further studies reveal activation strongly induced reactive oxygen species production stimulating Lyn, AKT ERK1/2 assembly NADPH oxidase. These results important role functions suggest potential drug target

According to the WHO, as of January 2023, more than 850 million cases and over 6.6 deaths from COVID-19 have been reported worldwide. Currently, death rate has reduced due decreased pathogenicity new SARS-CoV-2 variants, but major factor in rates is administration 12.8 billion vaccine doses globally. While vaccines are saving lives, serious side effects after vaccinations for several premature non-communicable diseases (NCDs). However, adverse events low number. The scientific community must investigate entire spectrum COVID-19-vaccine-induced complications so that necessary safety measures can be taken, current re-engineered avoid or minimize their effects. We describe depth severe metabolic, mental, neurological disorders; cardiovascular, renal, autoimmune diseases, reproductive health issues detected whether these causal incidental. In any case, it become clear benefits outweigh risks by a large margin. pre-existing conditions vaccinated individuals need taken into account prevention treatment events.

Vaccination against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is the safest and most effective strategy for controlling pandemic. However, some cases of acute cardiac events following vaccine administration have been reported, including myocarditis myocardial infarction (MI). While post-vaccine has widely discussed, information about MI scarce heterogenous, often lacking in histopathological pathophysiological details. We hereby present five (four men, mean age 64 years, range 50–76) sudden death secondary to tightly temporally related COVID-19 vaccination. In each case, comprehensive macro- microscopic pathological analyses were performed, post-mortem magnetic resonance, ascertain cause death. To investigate determinants MI, toxicological tryptase yielding negative results, while absence anti-platelet factor 4 antibodies ruled out vaccine-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenia. Finally, genetic testing disclosed that all subjects carriers at least one pro-thrombotic mutation. Although presented do not allow us establish any causative relation, they should foster further research possible link between vaccination, genotypes, cardiovascular events.

The rapid development of COVID-19 vaccines, combined with a high number adverse event reports, have led to concerns over possible mechanisms injury including systemic lipid nanoparticle (LNP) and mRNA distribution, Spike protein-associated tissue damage, thrombogenicity, immune system dysfunction, carcinogenicity. aim this systematic review is investigate causal links between vaccine administration death using autopsies post-mortem analysis. We searched PubMed ScienceDirect for all published autopsy necropsy reports relating vaccination up until May 18th, 2023. All studies that included as an antecedent exposure were included. Because the state knowledge has advanced since time original publications, three physicians independently reviewed each case adjudicated whether or not was direct cause contributed significantly death. initially identified 678 and, after screening our inclusion criteria, 44 papers contained 325 cases one case. mean age 70.4 years. most implicated organ among cardiovascular (49%), followed by hematological (17%), respiratory (11%), multiple systems (7%). Background and Objectives: Drug consumption is a widely developed practice around the world. However, sometimes medicines are acquired with or without prescription, termed self-medication, which can have negative impacts on health of population. It has been observed that arrival coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, self-medicated drug figures increased in several countries. To describe patterns medication, use prevalence self-medication during COVID-19 pandemic inhabitants capital province Pichincha, Ecuador. Materials Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted based self-administered online questionnaire from April to June 2022, among residents Participants were invited through social networks (WhatsApp Facebook). total 401 surveys included this study. Consumption (prescription treatment with) evaluated, as well variables characterize way acquiring medicines. The Chi-square test used look for relationships between patterns, characteristics participants. Results: Most participants female (53.4%), 59.4% reported having had COVID-19. 244 (60.9%) consumed medications mostly purpose treating infection. About half (48.4%) self-medicated. most paracetamol (87.3%) ibuprofen (47.5%). Drugs informal sources information (TV, networks, advice) associated (p < 0.05). Conclusions: significant percentage over-the-counter (OTC) legal found persist after pandemic. Our findings highlight effects alternative forms other than medical personnel practices.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) mortality rate in 55 African countries is almost 4.5 times lower than the despite Africa having over 4.2 more people. This paradox also evident when comparing Nigeria, a heavily populated, poorly vaccinated and weakly mandated country to Israel, small, highly strictly country. Nigeria has 4 COVID Israel. In this Field of Vision perspective, I explain how evolved drawing upon my academic, clinical social experience. Since April 2020, I’ve developed been using Egyptian immune-modulatory Kelleni’s protocol manage COVID-19 patients including pediatric, geriatric, pregnant, immune-compromised other individuals suffering from multiple comorbidities. It’s unfortunate that severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 still evolving accompanied by deaths. However Africa, we’ve able live without anxiety or mandates throughout pandemic because we trust science adopted early treatment safe, effective repurposed drugs have saved majority patients. article represents an tale honor.
