Currently, there is a tendency for significant increase in production and expansion of areas application nonwoven materials (NM), which are used almost all human life. The research and development (R&D) of radioprotective agents (RAs) have been conducting since seven decades ago, the safety protection against undesirable effects ionizing radiation (IR) has become an important issue especially for benefit patients receiving radiotherapy, in addition to applications nuclear industry, military, outer space exploration accidental exposures. Although technology advancement makes radiotherapy a promising better treatment by maximizing effect IR cancer cells, there are still needs improvement minimizing toxicity normal cells. Aiming at providing new researchers field with overall view R&D RAs, this mini-review elucidates brief general understanding its on cell, concepts therapeutic ratio, categories RAs their mechanisms, discusses strategies challenge RAs.
