The coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic has caused suffering and pain to mankind leading many individuals practising self-medication substance abuse that could elevate use disorders (SUDs). This study assessed the impact of Covid-19 on SUDs among Kanyama residents Lusaka district, Zambia. We conducted a retrospective cross-sectional using patient files at First-Level Hospital from September 2021 October 2021. Data analysis was done IBM SPSS version 26.0. Of 101 participants, 86.1% were male. showed had an with alcohol (83.2%) being most abused substance. There no significant difference in type substances (p=0.870) intoxication symptoms (p=0.331) between pre-Covid post-Covid groups. (p=0.001) withdrawal (p=0.002) both cohorts, group consuming more experiencing symptoms. Factors influenced included recent unemployment (p<0.001), boredom overcrowding home gender-based violence (p<0.001) change pattern use. Introduction: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious of the respiratory tract caused by SARS-CoV-2. Since its emergence, there have been increased rates transmission and spread, morbidity mortality which led to development COVID-19 vaccines address pandemic. This study assessed acceptance, knowledge, attitude, perceived risks regarding among pregnant women attending antenatal care at two First-Level Hospitals in Lusaka, Zambia. Materials Methods: was a cross-sectional that conducted 241 using questionnaire from August 2023 October Lusaka district, collected data were analyzed IBM Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22.0. analysis performed Chi-square test. statistical significance set 95% confidence level. Results: Of participants, 107 (42.7%) aged between 24 34 years. Overall, 64.3% accepted vaccines, 122 (50.6%) already vaccinated. Further, 203 (84.6%) had good 199 (82.6%) positive attitudes towards vaccines. However, 58.5% thought not safe could cause infertility. Alongside this, 70.1% harmful during pregnancy. Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic, a mental health pandemic emerged. Frontline healthcare workers (HCWs) are arguably most affected, particularly in low-to-middle-income countries like South Africa. Understanding their experiences is needed to inform interventions for social and psychological support both now future pandemics. Aim: This study explored lived of frontline HCWs Africa during using lifeworld phenomenological framework.Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted analysed principles reflexive thematic analysis.Setting: Our sample included 11 from various professions sectors who worked with patients Results: HCWs’ epidemic diverse marked by contradictions. Work was an emotional rollercoaster that mentally emotionally exhausting, substantially impacted daily life. Limited resources aggravated experiences. However, positive narrative hope gratitude also resonated participants.Conclusion: provides significant insights into group African COVID-19. Qualitative methodologies provided depth unique realities HCWs.Contribution: one few studies first use in-depth qualitative understand experience HCWs.
