Recently, ChatGPT, a cutting-edge large language model, has emerged as powerful Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tool with the capacity to influence education. ChatGPT provides ample opportunities for learners, researchers, educators, and practitioners achieve intended learning outcomes in various disciplines. This special issue examines diverse applications implications of GenAI tools including education, highlighting their potential enhance teaching across contexts. Key findings from seventeen studies collected this demonstrate that can significantly improve educational by providing personalized feedback, facilitating learning, supporting both qualitative quantitative research methodologies. ChatGPT (Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer) as an artificial intelligence (AI) tool has created a paradigm shift in the field of media studies by enhancing research efficiency, transforming teaching, and on other hand, raising critical questions about authorship algorithmic bias which sparked concerns over ethical implications studies. This study therefore investigated communication scholars' views, concerns, expectations regarding ChatGPT's integration into through in-depth interview 20 scholars purposively drawn from all scattered various universities within Anambra state, Nigeria. Findings revealed that most State, Nigeria, viewed beneficial for sustainability regardless disadvantages inherent its usage are willing to adopt it some have already put use activities It is recommended training programmes focused AI literacy essential equip with necessary skills engage effectively.

The paper presents the most comprehensive and large-scale global study to date on how higher education students perceived use of ChatGPT in early 2024. With a sample 23,218 from 109 countries territories, reveals that primarily used for brainstorming, summarizing texts, finding research articles, with few using it professional creative writing. They found useful simplifying complex information content, but less reliable providing supporting classroom learning, though some considered its clearer than peers teachers. Moreover, agreed need AI regulations at all levels due concerns about promoting cheating, plagiarism, social isolation. However, they believed could potentially enhance their access knowledge improve learning experience, efficiency, chances achieving good grades. While was as effective improving literacy, digital communication, content creation skills, interpersonal decision-making, numeracy, native language proficiency, development critical thinking skills. Students also felt would boost demand AI-related skills facilitate remote work without significantly impacting unemployment. Abstract The emergence of ChatGPT as a powerful chatbot has revolutionized global education in general and language learning particular since it can offer opportunities for students teachers. Against this backdrop, study aimed to explore whether gender usage frequency affect English learners’ perceptions use second (L2) writing beyond the classroom. In accordance with Technology Acceptance Model (Davis, 1989), research was conducted at major departments state university Türkiye. Employing fully integrated mixed methods approach adopting sequential explanatory design , present recruited 874 Turkish undergraduate students. Quantitative data were collected through Demographic Information Form Perception Scale, whereas qualitative gathered semi-structured interviews. Exploratory confirmatory factor analyses performed assess reliability validity scale. Descriptive inferential statistics run quantitative analysis, while analyzed using thematic analysis. results revealed that many participants used writing, though rarely, held positive tool. Artificial intelligence (AI) is forcing a dramatic transformation of the methods by which we acquire knowledge and engage in collaborative learning. Although there are several studies on how AI can support learning, no published examining students actually collaborate among themselves while interacting with tools. For this study, thirty postgraduate were organized into teams three, each team developed project mainly exploiting responses from ChatGPT, Google Gemini, MS Copilot, as well internet class resources. Each selected specific things (IoT) application area described technologies real-world cases area. Then, delivered report full description their interactions these generative (GenAI) tools presented work class. Additionally, answered an online questionnaire closed- open-ended questions participated focus group discussions. Members collaborated to design prompts using five suggested modes collaboration. Eventually, half exploited all modes, but they mostly liked preferred three modes. On average, teammates initially disagreed 24% time eventually reached agreement. Since its launch in late 2022, ChatGPT has generated both excitement and concern among language professionals applied linguistics. Although various organizations, publishers, institutions have introduced guidelines to address this phenomenon, these topdown approaches often neglect the nuanced experiences perspectives of L2 academic writing teachers their students. This study aims bridge gap by centering on one EFL teacher two international students an undergraduate course English medium program a Thai private university. In class, engaged writing, reading, discussions about what it means be writer age generative AI. By employing collaborative poetic autoethnography, we argue that is more than just tool or assistant; become ubiquitous “ghostwriter” requires careful navigation.
