This research addresses the importance of soft skills approach, which encompasses problem-solving, collaboration, interpersonal and communication for higher education in information technology (IT) field. IT graduate students continue to face difficulties meeting employability criteria global sector due mismatching capabilities, such as discrepancy between technical knowledge obtained academia practical expected by employers. systematic literature review used PRISMA guidelines data collection. Papers were examined using inclusion-exclusion criteria, included concentrating on full-text studies about published English 2018 2024. The keywords inclusion exclusion are skills, education, university, undergraduate, graduate, IT, technology, software, computer science, programming, systems IS. SCOPUS search engine platform found 2088 documents, (WOS) database 1383 documents. Purpose Current study theoretically and technically analyzed the empirical literature on Graduate Employability Skills (GES) aimed to investigate ten research questions: 1) specific features of retrieved studies GES, 2) trends scientific production 3) most relevant high-impact sources in field 4) clustering through Bradford’s Law Scattering, 5) highly cited articles 6) countries 7) pertinent authors 8) authors' productivity Lotka’s authors’ Scientific Productivity, 9) trending avenues for future investigations 10) identified gaps GES. In the current context, with growing influence of Artificial Intelligence, soft skills emerge as a crucial and distinctive factor for professionals. This research focuses on assessing relationship between their importance in employability online graduate students. A mixed methodological, non-experimental explanatory level approach was used; sample 192 students from university northern Ecuador analyzed. Data collection carried out through an survey, validated Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient 93.2%. The survey addressed socioeconomic data evaluation 30-question questionnaire five-point Likert scale. According to students’ perception, most demand are leadership teamwork. After reduction dimensions using multiple correspondence analysis (MCA), respondents were classified into three clusters. Individuals clusters one developed such self-regulation, effective communication, innovation.
