It examines five broad domains: hazards, exposures impacts; adaptation, planning resilience for health; mitigation actions co-benefits; economics finance; public political engagement. In this, the sixth report of Countdown, we track progress an extensive suite indicators across these domains, accessing presenting latest data further refining developing our analyses. Climate change presents a major public health concern in Australia, marked by unprecedented wildfires, heatwaves, floods, droughts, and the spread of climate-sensitive infectious diseases. Despite these challenges, Australia's response to climate crisis has been inadequate subject politics, sentiment, global developments. This study illustrates spatiotemporal patterns selected climate-related environmental extremes (heatwaves, droughts) across Australia during past two decades, summarizes adaptation measures actions that have taken national, state/territory, local governments. Our findings reveal significant impacts on well-being Australians. While governments implemented various strategies, plans must be further developed yield concrete actions. Moreover, Indigenous Australians should not left out efforts. A collaborative, comprehensive approach involving all levels government is urgently needed prevent, mitigate, adapt change.

However, there dearth in knowledge about how Australian system will address climate change. Recent Findings This integrative review synthesises tools, frameworks, guidance material suitable for adaptation from preventive perspective. The literature search was conducted electronic databases MEDLINE, PubMed, CINAHL, Web Science. Of 4507 articles identified, 19 met inclusion criteria that focused on operational methods excluded clinical context reactive disaster response approaches. Summary revealed ill-prepared manage adverse due ineffective strategies. highlights urgently requires effective strategies such as undertaking National Adaptation Plan process an improved understanding managing complex risks. Taking this action strengthen build resilience especially vulnerable populations. These findings help understand develop necessary adaptive Australia.
