Over the last two decades, antidepressant prescribing in UK has increased considerably, due to an number of people staying on antidepressants for longer. Even when treatment is no longer clinically indicated, qualitative research suggests many continue a fear depressive relapse or withdrawal symptoms. The quantitative effects peoples' beliefs and attitudes towards long-term use remain relatively unexplored. Background: Long-term use of antidepressant drugs is widespread despite guidelines recommending limited duration. General practitioners (GPs) play a central role in reviewing and discontinuing antidepressants, although they hesitate to initiate discussion about the long-term use. The potential pharmacists this process underexplored, their pharmaceutical expertise accessibility. Objectives: To explore community pharmacists’ perspectives on discontinuation barriers facilitators involvement process. Design: Qualitative study. Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 14 Belgian until data saturation. Interviews recorded, transcribed, thematically analyzed. Results: Four themes emerged.
