Purpose: It is well established that the COVID-19 pandemic has increased incidence of depressive symptoms in general population. So far, there are no studies analyzing how this affected prescription antidepressants. Methods: We retrospectively estimated new cases depression by prescriptions antidepressive agents over a period 6 years distributed three periods 2 each: pre-pandemic, pandemic, and post-pandemic, running from March 2018 to February 2024. This research was conducted healthcare area with 130,000 individuals Spain.
