Objectives. To examine associations between adolescent dating violence (ADV) and suicide planning among girls differences by race/ethnicity. Methods. Data were from the 2021 Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS), a cross-sectional, nationally representative study of 9th- to 12th-grade adolescents US high schools (n = 3886). We used weighted logistic regression ADV assess moderation Results. Compared with who did not experience any ADV, experienced both physical sexual had greater odds making plan (adjusted ratio [AOR] 5.35; 95% confidence interval [CI] 3.27, 8.74), effect size was larger than for experiencing either type alone. The relationship exacerbated Latina (AOR 6.36; CI 3.96, 10.19) compared White 2.51; 1.45, 4.35). Conclusions. Experiencing form increases girls, stronger impacts only ADV. Public Health Implications. Prevention may be strengthened integrating contextually tailored prevention into programs addressing healthy relationships violence. (Am J Health. Abstract Objectives Emergency department (ED) visits resulting from suicidal thoughts and behaviors have increased at alarming rates among youth in the United States recent years. Understanding trends specific racial, ethnic, gender, and/or age subgroups can provide foundation for tailored solutions those with greatest need support. Methods Using data Florida State Department Database 2016 to 2021, we calculated annual of ED suicide‐related diagnoses per 1000 young people aged 8‒21 We explored by intersectional race/ethnicity sex subgroups. Additionally, examined subgroup‐specific stratified percent changes 2019 2021. Results Among 8‒12‐year olds, highest encounters occurred Black males females this trend was steady over time. 13‒21‐year‐old patients, White displayed across 2016‒2021, all experienced a slight decline 2020 Rates generally between 2019, largest increase (10.6%) occurring 18‒21 years, whereas there decreased most Conclusions Across years groups, showed consistently higher than almost any other subgroup, supporting previous research that adolescent may be disproportionately suffering mental health crisis faced people. Furthermore, preteen additional support, as do adult females.
