Marker-assisted breeding (MAB) is revolutionizing the cultivation of horticultural crops by enabling more accurate genetic selection desired traits. Unlike traditional methods, which depend heavily on selecting traits based visible characteristics, a process often hindered complex inheritance patterns and environmental influences, MAB uses molecular markers tied to specific genes. This allows breeders efficiently identify choose plants with features. has significantly accelerated for like disease resistance, higher yields, enhanced nutritional visual qualities. It also reduces time needed cycles; while methods may require multiple generations achieve traits, can confirm presence beneficial genes early, speeding up development improved varieties. particularly crucial in addressing challenges climate change, where must quickly adapt stressors such as drought, salinity, temperature fluctuations. In essence, represents major advancement crop development, increasing precision efficiency efforts. plays vital role creating suited market needs, helping tackle global issues food security, change resilience, sustainable farming. positions horticulture better meet evolving consumer expectations agricultural demands.

Abstract Indonesia’s distinct geographical and geological landscape makes it highly vulnerable to natural disasters, particularly earthquakes, as sits at the convergence of three major tectonic plates. This persistent exposure hazards amplifies risks household welfare, posing significant challenges long-term poverty reduction goals. The absence a dedicated disaster-responsive social protection policy raises substantial concerns regarding country’s capacity address these vulnerabilities. study aims evaluate effects disaster on examines disaster-focused frameworks from other nations. goal is guide creation an adaptive model tailored unique risks. Using quantitative qualitative approaches, research conducts bibliometric analysis existing literature poverty, protection, tracing development concepts. findings underscore urgent need for robust, framework confront challenges. would adopt multi-stakeholder approach, fostering collaboration among government entities, private sector, communities boost resilience, improve preparedness, strengthen risk mitigation efforts.

Nigeria has witnessed significant efforts to promote the digitalization of her economy through implementation cashless policy using Naira redesign and cash withdrawal limits as instruments. However, while Digital Financial Literacy (DFL) is crucial for farmers cope with monetary shocks, DFL not been in favor households rural where reside thus exacerbating their economic vulnerabilities. This study examined relationship between farmers’ scores vulnerability outcomes specifically food security mental health, 3 months post-enactment last nationwide Multidimensional Index (MDFLI), Household Food Insecurity Access Scale (HFIAS), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7) multinomial regression model. A 4-stage method random sampling was employed choose 432 farming from three states southwestern geopolitical zone namely: Lagos, Ogun, Osun. The result revealed that score generally low (31.13%). analysis results a strong inverse GAD-7 scores, proxy measure stability. In addition, status hampered following policies enactment an average HFIAS 14.49, only 3.24% were remaining 97% being insecure at different degrees. It therefore recommended should be geared towards closing financial literacy gap Nigeria.
