Abstract Mussel‐inspired materials have been widely studied due to their excellent adhesion and self‐healing properties, but few studies introduced this interesting property into the fracturing development of deep/ultra‐deep oil gas fields. Herein, a new type mussel‐inspired delayed crosslinking gel fluid is reported, which formed by polymers containing many catechol groups organic zirconium crosslinkers. The strong supramolecular interaction in can construct more complex stable dually cross‐linked polymer network based on conventional chemical crosslinking, cope with harsh conditions such as high temperature shear reservoirs. After shearing at 200 °C, reserved viscosity 95 mPa·s.
