Abstract Hollow carbon nanocages (HCNCs) consisting of sp 2 shells featured by a hollow interior cavity with defective microchannels (or customized mesopores) across the shells, high specific surface area, and tunable electronic structure, are quilt different from other nanocarbons such as nanotubes graphene. These structural morphological characteristics make HCNCs new platform for advanced electrochemical energy storage conversion. Uranium detection and extraction are necessary for the ecological environment as growing demand nuclear energy. Hence, exploring stable materials with excellent performance in uranium is highly desired. Herein, by amidoxime-functionalizing tetrafluoroterephthalonitrile (TFTPN) crosslinked hydroquinone (bP), phloroglucinol (tP), 4,4',4″-trihydroxytriphenylmethane (tBP), three covalent organic polymers (COPs) bPF-AO, tPF-AO, tBPF-AO different architectures fabricated. related to difference molecule construction were systemically investigated, giving some reference rational design fabrication of advanced removal monitoring environment. The tPF-AO a compact steric structure achieves highest theoretical maximum adsorption capacity 578.9 ± 15.2 mg g-1 best recyclability. scattering electron center U(VI) selective binding sites endow capability U(VI), limit 24.2 nmol L-1, which well below standard drinking water World Health Organization (WHO). Moreover, COPs possess prominent physicochemical stability recyclability, more importantly, PAE-based derived from inexpensive industry easy processing methods, providing an efficient economical way uranium.
