Here are described the dilution-driven gel-sol-gel-sol transitions in aromatic hydrotrope/zwitterionic surfactant bi-component aqueous mixtures. Long and entangled wormlike micelles (WLMs) of concentrated erucyl dimethyl amidopropyl betaine (EAPB) solutions sequentially transform into hexagonal liquid crystal phase (H1), highly spherical (HCSMs), finally close packed micellar (HCP) upon gradual introducing an hydrotrope, sodium salicylate (NaSal). The HCP then successively converts HCSMs, WLMs, (SMs) further dilution with water, corresponding to a transition. This dilution-induced HCSMs WLMs transition results interesting thickening process, which is caused by slow kinetic from agglomeration recombination SMs long rigid via intermediately formed rodlike micelles. In this work, sustained adjustment competitive self-sorting co-assembly between hydrotropes surfactants was identified, benefitting creation application fluids switchable viscosity. Phase important self-assembly but multiple, sequential challenging achieve. Here, authors report development formation micelles, change following give transitions.

Abstract Here, we report that a 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl (Fmoc)-modified taurine (Fmoc-Tau) can act as hydrogelator. The supramolecular hydrogels of Fmoc-Tau were constructed through the self-assembly to form fibrous structures under physiologically relevant aqueous conditions. Fluorescence microscopy was employed investigate accumulation basic fibroblast growth factors along self-assembled structures.
