Abstract Sol–gel nano‐silica antireflective (AR) coatings with moisture resistance are widely used for optical elements, such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) crystals, but their mildew is often disregarded. This work reports a double‐layer AR coating and KDP crystals. A polydimethylsiloxane‐modified dense silica quaternary ammonium salt (QAS) modified nanoporous selected the bottom layer top layer, which effectively serve barrier an antireflection respectively. The coated crystal shows excellent properties maximum transmittance of 99.1% at 532 nm. Perfluorooctyltriethoxysilane vapor treatment performed further to improve mildew. resultant exhibits superior almost no change in after 3‐month exposure high‐humidity environment. introduction QAS hydrophobicity provides exceptional against mildew, achieving antimicrobial rate 99.9% E. coli A. flavus. Aerogel fibers uniting characteristics of both aerogels (lightweight and porosity) (flexibility wearability) exhibit a great potential for the production next generation thermal protection textiles; still, complex drying procedures mechanical brittleness remain main obstacles toward further exploitation. Herein, flexible robust aramid nanofiber aerogel (ANAFs) are scalably prepared by continuous wet-spinning coupled with fast air-drying. This synthesis involves calcium ions (Ca

Abstract Over the past 20 years, there is a shift of research and development in electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption materials toward exploiting unique structure composition gel‐based based to manipulate EMWs. In this article, it will review by focusing on applications various gels for EMW absorption, including aerogels, hydrogels, xerogels, organic gels, as well ionogels. This study highlights some new mechanistic insights design strategies dielectric loss, magnetic electro‐magnetic loss absorbers. For an in‐depth understanding into these recent areas, discuss historic perspectives absorption. Especially, emphasizes advantages multifunctional Finally, pending current challenges prospects performance tuning absorber are presented.
