ReO4– as a hazardous waste severely threatens environmental safety and human health. The high-efficiency adsorbent for the removal of is immense interest but still faces challenges. Herein, we established cationic metal–organic framework nanoparticles by an amino protonation strategy. Based on facile green method, first introduced dense groups (6.59 mmol/g) in UiO-66 situ to prepare UiO-66-(NH2)2, during which acetic acid modulator was applied construct defects. Subsequently, UiO-66-(NH2)2 acidified UiO-66-(NH3+Cl–)2. Notably, this exhibits high adsorption capacity 590.2 mg g–1 short equilibrium time 240 min ReO4–. Besides, excellent chemical stability reusability endow UiO-66-(NH3+Cl–)2 with promising potential practical applications. Experimental characterization density functional theory (DFT) calculations suggest that electrostatic interaction, ion exchange, coordination interaction jointly contribute effective Thus, work provides highly efficient nanoparticle and, importantly, proposes feasible strategy constructing adsorbents.
