ConspectusHyaluronic acid (HA), which contains multiple carboxyl, hydroxyl, and acetylamino groups is an agent that targets tumors, has drawn great attention in supramolecular diagnosis treatment research. It can not only assemble directly with macrocyclic host–guest complexes through hydrogen bonding electrostatic interactions but also be modified compounds or functional guest molecules by amidation reaction used for further assembly. Macrocycles play a main role the construction of drug carriers, targeted imaging agents, hydrogels, such as cyclodextrins cucurbit[n]urils, encapsulate photosensitizers, drugs, other via interactions. Therefore, formed assemblies respond to various stimuli, enzymes, light, electricity, magnetism controlled delivery, enhance luminescence intensity assembly, improve loading capacity.
